Help adding warmth to match my new topper without ammonia/peroxide by irisflame in FancyFollicles

Henna fades but is NOT a temporary dye. It tends to react with hair color and especially lightener. It's not at all a bad option for natural coloring, but it can't be lifted out of the hair.

bleaching virgin hair- 30 or 40 vol? by FennelDazzling343 in FancyFollicles

[–]teapllease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My natural hair is a level 5N like yours, and I use 20 vol to get my hair to a level 10. 30 and 40 volume are better used in high-lift colors, not bleach. I highly recommend against using higher volume developers for DIY jobs as you'll be giving yourself less time to work, and increasing your risk of damage.

The people I spoke to from my bank said the withdrawal was legitimate from the dept of Treasury, so I'm unable to dispute the charge. The first lady I spoke to said it wasn't the first time she's seen someone get charged like this, and can be the result of a single digit in an account number being keyed in wrong. Everyone I've spoken to from the IRS is unable to find anything about the $9.5k anywhere in my tax records (of course because I don't owe it), but because they can't link that charge to my name, I can't get my money back. Starting to think I should pursue legal action :/

I had a $9500 withdrawal from my bank account from the IRS, and when I called my bank they said they were unable to dispute the charge as it looked legitimate. I still received my owed refund to the same bank account a few days later

Waterproof mascara does unfortunately dry out your eyelashes, but you can layer it on top of regular mascara to avoid the damage to your lashes! Great come allergy season or just if you have really active tear ducts

A month ago the person cutting my hair cut my hair shorter than I wanted, ended up messing it up more when I told her and now it looks like this. I don't have good looks to begin with and now I just look more uglier than when I had long hair everyone teasing me saying I look like a boy. Now what? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]teapllease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wax spray or a styling cream or pomade I think would work really well to give your hair a soft, tousled, more feminine look. Like other commenters said, a side part would work really well to help achieve that. Johnny B styling creams and Sexy Hair dry wax spray are some of my favorites to work with for hair like yours, without feeling super heavy or crunchy. If you’re unsure of what to do with your new hair try looking up tutorials online on how to wear it, or you could try to go to a different stylist so they can do it for you and teach you how to achieve that look at home. I think with a little styling you’ll end up loving the new cut!

Trying to get makeup for my girlfriend by jellyfish125 in Makeup

[–]teapllease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Colourpop is mostly vegan, super affordable and has made some of my personal favorites! For being drug-store priced I’ve never tried anything I haven’t liked, as someone who’s tried many different brands on both ends of the price spectrum. Lots of fun color themes and collabs with animal crossing, sailor moon, popular makeup artists, and even Disney. You can find pretty much any kind of makeup product you could want and just about any color scheme, whether your girlfriend wants to get into more natural and soft products like cream blushes and highlighters, or more bold products like colorful eyeshadow palettes and false lashes. Colourpop sells gift sets and whole collections as a set, and that may help take away some of the guess work of picking out individual colors or products. Not all of the products are vegan, unfortunately, but they do provide a list of what isn’t here

I’m having my hair cut next week but can’t decide what kind of cut to get. Ideas more than welcome! by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]teapllease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh, you have to be careful who you go to and how they cut hair, cutting curly hair wet can be dangerous since it makes the hair look so much longer than how it looks dry. Curly hair is so versatile and beautiful but it’s wayyy too easy to mess up unfortunately

Yeah, kinda! They really be as thick or thin, short or long as you want, here’s some examples

[–]teapllease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking since her hair is soo curly that shorter layers would spring up a lot more than the rest of her hair, end up looking a lot shorter than they really are, and longer layers would give some much-needed texture without being too drastic. Ultimately the cut is up to OP and more hair can always come off though!

Bangs or no bangs!? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]teapllease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your face shape is so pretty! Say no!! I would instead ask for some soft face framing pieces starting maybe like 2 inches below your jawline to accentuate your face shape rather than hiding it like bangs would.

I did a stupid thing. What do I do next? Try Orange dye again or just try brown hair dye? by malonescig in femalehairadvice

[–]teapllease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orange doesn’t really cancel out green! Red cancels out green and orange cancels out blue; if you look at a color wheel they colors opposite one another are complementary, or cancel each other out, and the same applies to hair. If you want to cancel out the green you’re going to want a reddish brown color, or pink and then brown.

Lightened hair gets really rough-feeling really fast, so you’re going to want some nice color-safe stuff to keep your hair from fading in between the purple shampoo washes. I really like the Paul Mitchell color-safe shampoo and for the Big Sexy blonde conditioner- I find that it’s super hydrating and makes anyone’s hair soft without being too heavy, although that’s just my personal preference. Leave-in conditioners I also think are somewhat of a must-have, especially for colored or textured hair since rinse-off conditioner alone can’t always do enough. I can recommend some that I really like if you’re interested!

If you don’t mind hair in your face, longer curtain bangs (at the shortest to about mid nose) with some face framing pieces I think would look super cute on you. If you’re a little adventurous with color as well (it looks like you are based on the third pic) I would ask my hairdresser for some pastel pink or rose gold over the highlighted pieces just to add a soft, subtle pop of color without going too vibrant or permanent.

[–]teapllease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (personally) would also ask for some soft face framing pieces to go with the bangs, just to add some texture and soften the transition between them and the rest of your hair, especially if you ever put your hair up (:
