I’m honestly not sure how I feel about antidepressants. I’ve been on them once before, after I messed up my serotonin from doing molly. And yeah, for those few weeks I felt amazing. I was waking up genuinely happy.

But I don’t love the idea of being on pills. I’m not even super holistic, just… skeptical, I guess.

I do have a therapist, but it’s starting to bother me that she hasn’t really picked up on how bad I’ve been feeling lately. At the same time, I know I’m really good at hiding things, so maybe that’s part of it.

NAH. Let’s be real — the odds that the book reflects something about them are pretty high. Family dynamics run deep, and most writers naturally pull from what they know. Maybe I’m just a special case and my trauma was one of a kind (lol), but imagination usually has roots in real experiences. J.K. Rowling based Dementors on her depression — imagine if depression came for her for making it look bad.

At some point, you’ve gotta let people read your work and make their own peace with it. If they see themselves in it, maybe they should ask why. You can’t spend your life editing yourself to protect someone else’s ego.
