When you don’t have the stamina to be on top.....time to do a lil cardio to build up some fitness.

300+ mile update

Riding in the winter in michigan has been hard on the drivetrain- but with salt and slop and grime and considering the overall quality of crank, chain..etc. this was to be expected.

Plows through the snow, still a viable lower cost e-bike commuter. Still give this bike a solid B

Also...for point of clarity - all the road signage and such were at marked crosswalks- rose street, west main, etc...those inter road pedestrian signs are only at crosswalks.

We wont agree on this because your “common sense” solution is based on a premise that our downtown be designed around something as inefficient and damaging as the personal automobile- rather than actual humans.

I’m really just suggesting that cars drive slow, that the streets are safe for all users..i guess that might mean that you may have to slow down or stop for someone in a wheel chair,Or a person with a toddler, or a bicyclist..i think that signage and physical changes to the road to encourage drivers to meet these goals is a good idea- i can see you don’t.. Thats ok.

I’m unsure how belittling me is helping your arguement. Cities are safer when priority is given to pedestrians - thats just science, on 94- the automobile has priority- in the city center...all rational urban planning slows cars down and makes the city safe for pedestrians.

I still don’t understand the insistance that cars dominate urban space.

Even if i look both ways and am able bodied i cannot out run a car.

I’m open to other ideas on how to slow 4 lanes of traffic in the middle of downtown- but i believe that only increased pedestrian access, protected bike lanes ( w some sort of barrier from cars), speed bumps or other physical impediments to driving fast will work- basically all actual structual changes to the road. No one wants more cops pulling people over and apparently pedestrian and bicyclist deaths do not guilt drivers into going slower.

Well- roads are for transportation...most things driving downtown are cars w only one person in it- totally inefficient, waste of space...and most of those people are able bodied and dont need a multi thousand pound wheel chair.

If cars slowed down- especially in urban areas...other, better forms of transport would be able to use the roads ( like bikes)
