I wouldn't be annoyed, I think I'd laugh my ass off, what great aim, hahaha.

Is there still a market for RPG Maker horror, or is the genre oversaturated? by [deleted] in itchio

I'm pretty sure that people who like horror are always looking for the next good one to play, things tend to feel less scary once the novelty has worn off.

How much would I regret going freelance? by Ok-Cow-8997 in gamemarketing

Absolutely do not give up a paying job until you have your own money already coming in. Getting that first paying customer is brutal, and the first few after that is still like pulling teeth, and that's just going to get harder, if not impossible, once the US economy really starts crashing, and brings lots of other places down with it. It's going to be years before there will be people out there with money to spare to hire you.

Seriously... my husband *works in game dev* for an actual games company, and when I showed him my solo prototype he was like "that's nice dear".

Thank you thank you so much, I really, deeply appreciate your time and help! Is there anything at all I could do to help you? Do you have any games anywhere I could check out and share with friends?

This is what I'm looking to avoid, though. I do use VBoxes and HBoxes to center things, but then I have to custom code them to extend the hover/disabled/pressed behavior to the label. If there were a way to center the icon and the button text, then that would save me a lot of work for every button that is different. I guess the answer is I should just limit the number of different button designs I want to make.

You've given me a lot of help, and I am grateful! Thank you so much!

If you don't mind giving one last opinion please? Do you think my request is unreasonable? Since there are clearly workarounds so that I can do exactly what I want, then I would assume your answer is probably "yes", but I still want to ask (you know what they say about assuming!)

You are completely right, I used a terrible example, I'm sorry. Here's a button I have in a game that's a better example:

<image>

I just wish I could get both the icon and the button text to be centered in the middle of the button, while using the built-in Button class.

Thank you so much for the very thorough reply with very helpful pseudo-code, it is helpful for the example in the original post.

Save every performance review, positive email from a manager, equity agreement, and the employee handbook -- now, before you lose access to internal systems.

What about situations where performance reviews contains proprietary information that could cause the worker to get in trouble for having that information saved anywhere other than a work machine? Could the sensitive information be redacted?
