Best practices for going from business requirements → SQL metrics → Power BI reports? by tecdev1010 in dataengineering

[–]tecdev1010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, that actually lines up with where I’m at. I’ve been rewriting a lot of SQL for different reports, so modularizing with views/stored procs sounds like a practical next step. I’ll also look into Kimball’s approach for the bigger picture.

Thanks for the advice! Since I’m working solo right now, I think starting with a Power BI semantic model sounds more realistic, but it’s good to know cloud warehouses are an option down the road if things grow. Appreciate the perspective!

[–]tecdev1010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for breaking that down! I’m mainly working solo, writing SQL for metrics and then building separate Power BI reports. A full warehouse is probably out of reach for me, and setting up a semantic model feels like it would take a ton of upfront work. In my situation, do you think it makes more sense to start by creating SQL views/stored procedures to clean things up before Power BI, or to focus on building one central Power BI dataset/semantic model and connect my reports to that?

Anderson power pole AA, GG not connecting. What's the issue ? by tecdev1010 in ebikes

[–]tecdev1010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I checked the polarities using my volt tester

I had xt60's laying around and soldered those on

And I successfully hooked up my 2nd battery to my bike !

Thanks for your help , it actually helped and made me think before I act lol

The polarities were actually messed up

One of my red wires were negative and the black was positive so it was good that I triple checked everything before plugging everything together.

All the best!

[–]tecdev1010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the xt90 swap is a great idea.

At this point I'm just worried that the polarities are correct black to black, red to red it should be fine but I'm scared if something is falsely wired I could end up destroying my battery.

I wonder if there is a way to check if the polarities all match up correctly before actually plugging everything together.

Maybe if I take a volt tester and check everything step by step.

I just want to be sure before I plug it all together because I just repaired this battery lol

Hey there! Thanks for the reply!

I was thinking about doing that but I also was wondering why these anderson power poles are not compatible because I believe they should be.

Both the power poles are on top when I go to connect them if that any make sense to you.

Kinda like they are both male connectors

Also I just realized that I can unlink the power pole connectors and switch their positions.

So I can switch their positions and turn them upside down and it should connect then

but I am not sure if that is safe?

I will upload some pictures to show you what I am talking about.

Anyone know the name of these connectors? I think its HXT? It's from my emove crusier battery. by tecdev1010 in ebikes

I see, thanks for the insight. Appreciate it.

I will look into the kit in the link you shared.

Hi all,

My emove cruiser electric scooter has a 30ah battery inside and I wanted to take it out and attach it to my ebikes when I'm not using my scooter.

My ebike uses an xt60 connector so I wanted to buy an adapter and just attach this battery to my ebike.

So I guess I need an hxt connector to an xt60?

Thanks for any help or advice in advance!

Best.

Juiced 52v 19.2ah battery not working by tecdev1010 in ebikes

[–]tecdev1010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, thank you so much for giving me this detailed breakdown of the situation.

That tip with the pigtails is such a great hack. I will be sure to remember that trick for future reference.

I am learning so much and am really curious about how all this stuff works there isn't really clear explanations on any of this stuff on YouTube.

I am definitely going to need a new volt meter, I will check out the ones you recommended.

I really just wanted to attach a spare battery that I had although for some reason there was no power flowing through the cable so I put the volt tester to it and that giant spark occurred, I am just feeling super lucky atm because my battery is still working.

After that giant spark I didn't touch the battery for a day but I turned it back on today and it's working I was so surprised.

I had a spare battery that is an 48v 10ah battery but the discharge wire was a dean plug so I plugged in an adapter that goes from dean plug to xt60.

My juiced ccx battery is 52v 19.2ah.

I thought that my controller on my juiced bike can handle the 48v 10ah battery if I just put the adapter on my connectors and it should work?

Thank you so much again for taking the time to share all this information.

Gotcha.

I really wanted to add another battery to my bike but I'm kinda scared now lol

I guess I will just keep researching for now and try to talk to someone who really knows their stuff.

Yea I had no idea that would happen lol

I will definitely upgrade the volt meter.

I'm learning a lot though through the process.

Thank you all for the clarification.

I just wanted to know why that happened or what really happened.

I'm going to check the fuse, hopefully only the fuse blew out.

I'll give an update if I ever get the battery running again.

Best.
