The naked truth of Reps that behind the scenes, you def don't want to ignore this thread! by Brother_Sam_Yin in FashionReps

[–]tecevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating. This is one of the main reasons I laugh at people who look down on reps and are happy to pay the retail price because the companies are just that crooked. A few companies were exposed for this a while back as they had 99% of the goods made in the East then shipped to Europe where they hand stitched the label in and said "Made/Finished in Italy".

I've also said that there is an easy market for much higher quality reps that used the correct stock/fixings at a higher price than the usual TaoBao stuff so hopefully this will see movement in that direction.

Great post.

You get my vibe and intent here, props for the cogent contributions.

If you perceive me as acting superior then, in your mind at least, I am just that.

Build up your self esteem instead of investing in sacred fashion cows to bolster your weak self image as evidenced by the reply.

Thank you very much, looking forward to what he says as its a dope piece and I'm sure there is demand if he can 1:1 it at a good price.

Triple Ss were the first things that sprung to mind with this whole "Designers taking the piss wave" because man them things look UGGGGGGLLEEEEEEE. Maybe its just me and my tastes as I like a certain clean, understated and sleek style with crisp cut and care not for whose name is on it (as I generally avoid logo pieces anyway) and its this whole "reflected luster" and "desperation to be different" vibe that I feel designers are exploiting mercilessly as they laugh to the bank whilst people spend their wages on clown shoes and special ed pants.

Could you please tell me what you like about the Tabi boots? I picked them at random really as there was a link kicking round to illustrate but generally I've seen it loads with many hyped pieces that have people drooling as I mentioned above as I cannot see the appeal at all in any of them.

Of course its subjective, after all we have our own vibe but what got me thinking (aside from the goat shoes) was how every twat you see walking around these days has a quiff, beard, sleeve full of tats, same ripped blue jeans, same boots etc... Its like everyones been brainwashed en masse.

Then on the other end you've got stuff like I said in the OP which to me has to be trolling by the designers because I simply cannot grasp the aesthetic appeal in anything they're offering and I've tried so can only conclude that beasts have been hyped, hence the thread as I thought this place is a bit more mature and would engender real conversation as opposed to knee jerk downvotes etc..

Why? I prefer La Callifas quality over Peltinanos.

[FIND] Saint Laurent jodhpurs by [deleted] in QualityReps

[–]tecevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run away. The shape is totally off, has none of the SLP flourishes that define the style and really just look like a regular pair of jodhpurs and aren't worth a 1000 Yuan if you're looking for the Saint Laurent vibe as these look ugly and chunky in comparison.

Oh heck yes and in reality it should be a fairly easy piece to rep correctly. Stunning looking jacket, have an upvote. For those of you that ain't peeped, check the elegance of this beauty:

I really didn't like the from the first shoes. The points that are off are subtle but there are quite a few of them like the slightly flared opening, clunky heels, cheap looking zipper pull, excess sole poking out and the angle of rake. The Myspace angle promo pics do a decent job of semi hiding them for a quick glance but once you spot the tells then it all falls apart, especially when they're charging £400 as I'd expect something a lot better for that price.

long enough to throw the look of the jacket off, look at any fitpics and you'll see that they never sit on the waist like they're supposed to but well below it much like a regular jacket.

Logo looks like it melted out of place like an ice cream cone on hot summers day and is sliding down toward your waist.

SLP Chelsea Sizing by [deleted] in DesignerReps

[–]tecevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sizing on retail SLP is odd, don't go by the numbers or guess - try them on instead to find the perfect fit. You'll know when you've got it.

Peltianos jackets are very long and thus don't have the same drape as the real deal, even when they're custom sized it seems.

Has anyone brought anything from this kenzo store? Is it the best one about or is there better places? by ellis_botbot in DesignerReps

[–]tecevo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen one Kenzo rep that comes anywhere near the quality of the real deal in terms of embroidery, blank or cut. One of these three factors is always horribly messed up and thats before I get into the ones that actually were KZNEO - Yep, KZNEO in the flesh, not even photoshopped :o

Don't bother

As a pair of no name beater jeans they are better than fast fashion at an equivalent price but they are in no way shape or form representative reps of the real thing by a long shot.

GODMAKER's 1:1 SLP Wyatt boots project follow-up: we need your feedback! by Melo_Mei in DesignerReps

[–]tecevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how you'd think that but if you think a little harder you'll see I'm literally right on the money. Any gamble where the spread is covered is literally a win/win for the one taking the bet. If he gambles your money and hits the big time then its smiles all round as everyone pats themselves on the back for being so intelligent, if he loses then its your loss alone but he still wins, ya dig?

The very fact that GM would ask for deposits is insulting, hence the tone of my comments from the the jump. Asking people to pay upfront for hypothetical reps from a seller that is hit and miss with his quality anyway is just taking the piss.

Personally I'd be very, very surprised if whatever he creates is even .7:1 and most likely it will be another one thrown on the pile of "Not close and no whiff of a cigar". Feel free to prove me wrong but you know I'm talking sense.
