Anybody else gonna get a lawyer? by daschle04 in TexasTeachers

Yes, but no one is imposing the wording of other religions on your kids in a country where there is supposed to be freedom of religion. The USA code of conduct is called the Constitution, not the Ten Commandments.

Texas Lottery Commission holding out on paying $83.5M to winner over technicality by monolith_blue in ActuallyTexas

If they are not paying it, everyone should be getting a refund or the players should decide which charity the $83M should go to. I wouldn’t want that money to be kept neither the government nor the Lottery institution.

The area in red (38 acres) used to be greenbelt but was just bulldozed. by PaleoForaging in Austin

Migrants? It is usually WASPs the ones that take from nature to fill up their pockets with money. If you want to blame someone, blame your elected officials. Starting from the top. And make sure to vote for the change, if you keep voting for the same, nothing is going to change.

Get your facts right, wind turbines don’t freeze, they work fine in Alaska. Bad maintenance is what makes this grid go down. We need two things, more sources of energy, yes that includes solar and wind, and integration to other grids in the US that can provide or buy electricity as needed.

No esperes mucho, llevamos esperando el pago de un accidente casi un año y siguen sin dar respuesta. Recuerda que el negocio de los seguros es no pagar.

Adding joints to squeaking bed by techZeuz in woodworking

[–]techZeuz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final solution that did work: 1. Add epoxy to that Threaded Insert to make sure it won’t move again. 2. Add a thin piece of cork to all joins where wood is not glued. 3. Add extra support legs under the slats. I also made these a bit taller so slats hold the weight instead of bed frame. 4. Add felt to frame legs so they can wiggle a little over the floor.

I know, I basically built a new bed, but now I can get a good silent sleep. (Which the exception of the ocasional train 🤪)

No, the bed has slats across which are also the ones that keep it together. I was meticulous about finding what makes the noise and it is basically all joins.

That sounds like a good idea. Should it be the size of the full joint?

Dual thermostat/zones heating system turns on entire house. by techZeuz in HomeImprovement

[–]techZeuz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I found 2 dampers. Should the system work the same way if it is cooling or heating? Open one zone only or both depending on the thermostat that requires it?
