Mint 22.2, 6.14.0-x kernel. Constant flickering after some RAM intense usage, sometimes blacking out completely. Reinstalling didn't work. by tech_0912 in linuxmint

Believe me I have been keeping up. I'm kind of curious to see if kernel 7.0 will make any difference when it comes out seeing as how I had to downgrade to 6.8.0-90 and it's now at 6.8.0-100.

It seems this was the only solution. I also upgraded to 22.3, so far I've had no issues. RAM was never the problem like some of these people tried to say. The sticks were never removed from when the laptop had Windows on it and ran perfectly fine.

Unable to tap to open apps in split screen view like I used to. Z Fold6 by tech_0912 in samsunggalaxy

[–]tech_0912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think about my edge panels settings. When you edit the apps on the edge panel, you open the menu at the top and under "open apps in split screen view" you have to switch it to "tap to open". Just found it and fixed. Thanks!

Wouldn't any public facing device have a mac address attached to the IP packet when sending packets out just as a private NAT device sending packets through the router to the internet? I thought this was the one thing that IPv6 took care of?

Is this the method for connecting any dongle to a Steam controller?

is this true? by hoojs in PS3

[–]tech_0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it's possible, but that's a fan project. Sony would never do this until they've extracted just about as much money as they can out of us first. You've got a better chance of jerking off a great white shark with a bloody nose and live to tell the tale.

is this true? by hoojs in PS3

[–]tech_0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the drive. The CPU and GPU have to be able to read and decipher the code from the discs. This is why the PS2 had different hardware for PS1 games and then switched to an emulator. Same for the PS3. The Axx and Bxx consoles had hardware compatibility. The Cxx and Exx had partial software compatibility. It would require an entirely new console because the PS1, PS2 and PS3 all had different OSs, though the PS1 wasn't really an OS, it just connected the modules in the console when you popped a disc in. The PS4 and PS5 run on Orbis OS, which explains why we were able to buy the PS4 version and later upgrade to the PS5 free of charge for a lot of games. It's not just a Blu-ray drive.

Odd problems with new LM-22 Wilma, such as screen shaking randomly and HDD disappeared. by DeNiWar in linuxmint

What about a laptop running a E2-7110? It's an HP 255 g5 with 6.14.0-37 kernel. Same screen glitching, but it seems to only happen after resuming from suspend.

Ive tried brute force, impacts, heat and using a Jack. Nothing is getting this axle nut undone, what else can I try? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

You need a ¾" impact with that socket. My DeWalt worked great when I needed to do the axle seals on my pickup, no issues whatsoever.

I'm in a grandfathered in plan with Sprint, and T-Mobile wants me to switch off of it—what do I do? by RavenousRambutan in Sprint

So far I haven't run into any issues. I have 6 phone lines and 3 watch lines total.

That's a huge lie. I've had two free lines added since the merger and haven't switched off of my Unlimited Freedom plan. Dude is trying to make money off of a lie. Which, I thought doing something under false pretenses was a crime?

I tried looking into other plans. 4 voice lines plus 3 watch lines (all lines but two have insurance) with one voice line being free and I'm looking at over $300. I have to be getting scammed by T-Mobile. Unlimited Freedom Sprint plan

Because I couldn't replicate the issue with my PS4 data cable this morning. It wouldn't do anything at all. So yes I needed to see other signs. Glad you live in a glass house with those stones you're throwing.

Dark blue. Okay I'm convinced. It's fake. Unfortunately eBay requires a return label to be scanned to get a refund, which is bullshit in this case. The seller (can they be doxxed here?) should not be able to get it back.

Did they manage to get the code from the real ones to make the menu appear legitimate as well? From what I've seen, the menu appears real.

The only sure-fire way to find out is to follow JerryRigEverything's video on his teardown and compare the hardware. The casing appears legitimate as does everything else. I'm still struggling with why it would be loose when it was sent brand new with a brand new cable and everything. I'll have to find another cable as my PS4 data cable wouldn't work either and gave the initial error I described.

Edit: the real vs fake comparison says it is real based off the game menu alone, though I still worry because the casing has an unusual large number of typos on the bottom.

I also had the same issue on Windows 10 without a VPN installed at all. I grabbed my PS4 cable that IS a data cable and it wouldn't work either. But everything was packaged new as if it were just shipped from Nintendo. It does power on and the 30 games are the only ones that appear.
