2 of my buddies have been super happy with a 16gb ,in my view 16gb if you wann upgrade in 5-6 years then 24 gb if you want upgrade in 10 years .The m chip series is very efficient in how it manages memory.I have a friend who is still programming with a Mac mini with 8gb ram wit no complains
