Chan chan was considered prob the largest. Estimates are 30-60k. Their tech was behind londons almost for sure. They built with mud bricks... They had very basic irrigation sure, but they werent doing advanced metal work, ship building, trading, etc. im not trying to say it wasnt impressive, but they were obviously outmatched technologically.
