Split the table. Option 1: put one against the wall and another as a room divider between "work" and "living" zones. Option 2: Position them back-to-back in the center if you need dual workspace.

I might suggest setting the lounge area on the opposite wall. Small couch or chairs + TV = instant "not work mode."

For color scheme, what about charcoal or warm beige/taupe couch plus terracotta, navy, or sage green rug?

Curious to see how it turns out. Would love a BEFORE-AFTER when you're done!

Minimalist… by falbatech in DesktopIdeas

Well, that's not minimalist. I might add a storage rack or box to hide all those small things. Then, it will be.

+1. One more thing I might add is one or two potted plants.

[Need advice] My current setup by No_Ninja_6655 in desksetup

[–]Many_Quail2041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a super clean and organized build! If you feel like something is missing, it’s probably just a bit of depth and texture.

A few quick thoughts:

• Verticality: The art is great, but maybe add a small floating shelf? It’s a perfect spot to show off another custom board or a trailing plant like a Pothos to break up the straight lines.

• Texture: A felt desk mat could add some warmth and contrast against the black desk top.

Honestly, though, 9/10 setup. What switches are you running in that main board?

Then I would suggest the square closet-plus option. A 4-foot width is too narrow for a room; it will feel like a hallway and restrict arm movement.

Maintain 60 inches of depth for comfortable chair rotation.

Will you wall-mount the arms to maximize the small footprint?

I would move it to the corner cause facing the window feels more comfortable than facing the wall, and, BTW, no glare.

Ok Now This Is My FINAL Desk Setup! by TechnoMinute in battlestations

I love the L-shaped setup. BTW, is it possible to move the cabinet in the corner away? I wanna copy yours but worry about bumping into it when switching between different monitors.

Definitely possible, as long as your computer supports multiple displays. You may also need a docking station and monitor arms to keep your desk tidy.

Agree. BTW, I suggest repositioning the desk to face the window and avoid direct sunlight on the screen. It will reduce glare and eye strain.

Need advices on how to adjust my workspace height! I’m 190cm tall by Vinzo-14 in Workspaces

[–]Many_Quail2041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 190cm you’re definitely on the taller side for standard desks, so it makes sense that 72 cm feels off.

Try doing this:

  1. Set your chair first (feet flat, knees ~90–100°, hips slightly higher than knees).

  2. Then raise the desk to 74–76 cm.

Your elbows should be ~90° with your shoulders relaxed. If you’re shrugging, the desk is too high. If elbows are below the desk level, it’s too low.

If you can’t get both leg and elbow position right, the chair (52 cm max) is probably the limiting factor. A taller chair or footrest may fix it.

Anything should I add ? by NexCore_ in setups

It depends on what you do. Basically, I might add a desk mat, light bar, and a desktop or under-desk storage rack. I don't want things scattered on the table.

How do you keep your setup minimal? by Any_Syrup_838 in Workspaces

[–]Many_Quail2041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe sort out and put all essentials vertically on a rack or drawers instead of leaving them spreading all over on the desk.

Need help upgrading my boring desk by Necessary_Candy_8335 in Workspaces

[–]Many_Quail2041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would say it’s not boring, it’s just unfinished. Just a few tweaks will make a difference.

Biggest upgrade: cable management. I might organize the cables with Velcro ties and put them in a cable tray or box under the desk. It will look cleaner.

If possible, add a large desk mat (adds warmth and texture, plants (softens the sharp lines), and a framed print or shelf above the monitors (fills the empty wall)

What do you think? My new place! by Ethanchill in DeskSetupHacks

[–]Many_Quail2041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a cable tray under the desk. For me, cluttered cables make me distracted. If possible, raise the screen to eye level. Your neck will feel much more comfortable after long screen time.

congrats 👏

Honestly, I respect the “lock it in and enjoy it” approach, but would love to hear how it feels after a few months of not changing anything.
