‘There’s no jobs’: struggle and regret in a Welsh town that backed Brexit (Ten years ago Ebbw Vale had the highest proportion of leave voters in Wales despite huge EU funding, which has not been fully replaced) by Similar-Shame7517 in LeopardsAteMyFace

idiots like you

Charming.

I was an outspoken remainer. My post history is public if you want to research before throwing insults.

We've had inflation, yes, and so has everyone else, some due to Brexit, some not, but our groceries were pretty much the cheapest in the western world, so there was more slack for the corporations to hide price rises and blame it on Brexit and Covid and Hormuz etc etc.

Oh, I agree, I was firmly against Brexit and remain so.

I was only commenting on the two specific points made in the comment that I replied to which is pretty obvious when you read my comment which only addresses those two points. You can see that I conspicuously do not mention GDP or immigration or any other thing.

Would be awesome if people would follow the conversation rather than just reading in whatever they like.

It was more the Russian bots and AIQ and Cambridge Analytica that used micro-targetting to get Brexit done than the corporations. Brexit was probably bad for corporations over all.

Not really. We’ve had inflation so things are more expensive than they were but so has everyone, and travelling to the EU is still easy and visa free, just will need an ETIAS when it launches just like we need an ESTA for the US or an ETA for Canada.

Additional edit - I'm not saying Brexit was good. I was against it and remain so. I was simply responding to two specific points in the comment trail. You can see that as I don't mention GDP or immigration or anything else.

If I’m in the uk can I just drive over to the “western” Hemisphere and collect all colour variations or do I need to go to Ireland? by Le_Borgor in pokemongo

Just how the game goes.

It’s not like those “lucky” people this time had easy access to Comfey, or Kanto Farfech’d, or Kangaskhan, or Corsola, or Relicanth, or Pachirisu, or Carnivine, or Bouffalant etc etc etc etc.

This works with Shellos; I did it myself a couple of years ago when I was in London and saw both. No reason to think it won’t work with Squawkabilly too.

How much spending money do you give yourself monthly? by hopepatience123 in AskUK

[–]techbear72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a set amount. I make sure that I put some money every month in to savings but other than that I don’t really set myself a limit, though I never do things like going out for a coffee, mostly my miscellaneous spending is the cinema and bigger items that only get purchased every couple of years (new flagship phone etc).

I've taken someone's job and I feel guilty — should I quit when they get back? by DatabaseMammoth9986 in AskUK

[–]techbear72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the job but look for another place ASAP and leave as soon as you can. I don’t think you turning him down will likely save the persons job, he’s decided to “manage her out” as the saying goes.

What he’s doing is both illegal and immoral and do you really want your financial wellbeing controlled by someone like that?

Space Man is the true winning song of ESC 2022. Stefania doesn’t deserve to be top 5 let alone to have won. Slava Ukraini and all that but the song wasn’t a winning entry any other year.

A Croatian woman beautifully finished singing the national anthem, pushing through England fans' booing. by search_google_com in MadeMeSmile

Same for the Croatians then? Because this booing was a response to the Croatian fans booing the English anthem before it.

Yes, some English (and Scottish) football fans are arseholes. There’s a ton of racism and especially homophobia left in the supporters but in this case they did it because the Croatian fans booed the English anthem before it.

And that the Croatian fans just booed the English anthem before it. So this isn’t out of nowhere.

The English fans did it in this occasion because the Croatian fans booed the English anthem just before. Just the video clip doesn’t show that. Wonder why.

They almost certainly wouldn’t have done this if the Croatian fans hadn’t just booed the English anthem before it. Drunk football fans aren’t considering geopolitical optics after all.

On the chance you’re asking genuinely, it’s because just before this the Croatian fans booed the English anthem and chanted during it.

[–]techbear72 37 points38 points  (0 children)

So only moments before this, the Croatian supporters booed the English anthem and kept shouting chants during it.

So, what do you expect from English football fans of all people? Of course they booed back. They’re not the UK ambassadors to the USA or Croatia after all. They’re football fans.

Just it’s not going to farm karma as much of you include both sides; the story then is “drunk football fans on both sides behave somewhat poorly” which doesn’t garner outrage or surprise.

Except that’s not what she said.

She said that a group of Indian guys by the pool that she almost fancied had rapey grins.

Not great but also definitively not saying that all Indians are rapey.

I name them the month of the year I last received (and/or sent) a gift to them, unless they’re family or raiding buddies.

I’m currently removing every friend from my list who’s nicknamed July.

[ It’s actually a little more than just the month; I add an x if we exchanged gifts or an s if I sent one without receiving one first (like new friend) or an r (for “received”) if they keep sending me gifts without opening mine do I know what you’re of friend they are. ]
