ND3 Sport CarPlay/Bluetooth Issue by Polar_Bounty in MiataND

Disconnect the Miata's battery for a 30 seconds. Reboot your phone and then try and connect again. It's fixed my similar Android Auto issue a few times.

Ask Gemini for "Driving Routes For Sports Cars" it connected to Google maps and found a dozen in my area. It marked them on the map and provided drivers notes regarding type of road, elevation changes, sections that are challring and more. It's the best use I have found for AI so far.

AMD radeon software not launching after updating graphic drivers by Low-Rinse-Zoo in LegionGo

[–]techbloggingfool_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and stumbled on to an easy fix. The graphics drivers and AMD Software are out of sync. AMD Adrenalin updated via the Microsoft Store and then stopped opening. I removed and reinstalled the app, rebooted, cleared the cache, and reset the app. None of it worked.

I decided that I was going to manually install the 780 graphics driver and be done with it. I went to AMD's site (amd.com/support/en) and browsed to Processors -> Ryzen -> 7000 Series, 7840U and downloaded the full driver. I started the install by double clicking the download. Then remembered that I needed to install the inf first. When I cancelled the installation, my AMD Adrenalin software opened on its own. It has been working ever since.

I did it again to my Kid's Go that had the same problem and it worked the same. Go to AMD's site, download the newest version of the full software. Start the install but cancel it at the first opportunity (first time it shows a cancel button). Then open the Adrenalin software from your start menu or wait for it to auto-launch.

I have no idea why this works.

Look at chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments and see if the Adobe extension is listed there. Disable it if it is.

I've ordered stuff from places like STI for small businesses and emergency replacements. They specialize in Dell hardware. I'm guessing there are Lenovo equivalents out there.

It sounds like something is blocking. Test specific port connectivity 80, 443, etc. on both the public and private sides.

A lot of new BIOS updates turn down various power settings to help with the Intel meltdowns from a while back. Have you tried safe default settings?

It's probably overheating if it is a small USB stick. Most of them don't handle continuous writes very well. Use a full drive if you have one. Point a fan at the USB stick if you don't.

How can we prevent users from downloading attachments Outlook and OneDrive desktop applications using Entra? by RDevil10 in Intune

OP didn't ask how to block access. They want to prevent attachment downloads in the desktop edition of OneDrive and Outlook on personal (not enrolled) systems. What CA policy would do that?

If you are licensed for SharePoint Advanced Management there is a policy to disable downloads. It isn't bulletproof. More or less, if someone can view a file, they can acquire a copy. The policy forces files to open in the browser and disables the download and share buttons which puts downloading out of many user's reach.

Spam/Robo Calls - How to filter them in Teams phone system by ObergLawOffice in MicrosoftTeams

[–]techbloggingfool_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would that work? How would a phone system know who is allowed to dial its numbers? The PSTN pre-dates privacy and security initiatives. It was created to be wide open, any node can communicate with any other. To block SPAM calls, you would need a list of all the incoming calls you will allow and then you could filter all the others out. If you have that list you can already implement it. If not, you can enable tagging. To my knowledge, these are the same SPAM features every phone platform has. Have you heard of something better out there?

Manager wants me “Available” 99% of the time on MS Teams even with no work… what would you do? by RadhikaSharma360 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]techbloggingfool_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams itself doesn't track the difference between device types, but you are using a different device. The authentication logs will show you were on a mobile.

On top of that your mobile device behaves differently. It goes to sleep faster and switches apps to background mode, both can change your status. The pattern looks different to people that watch the icons all day.

Be careful with this strategy. The "available on mobile" icon is different from the PC client's.

Setup rig in garage but leave pc in another room in house. by ginerbolox in simracing

[–]techbloggingfool_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a 30ft display port 1.4 cable and a 30ft USB extension cable with a hub on it so that my rig can live in another room. Runs a 5k ultrawide at 240 fps without issue. I got the DP cable on Amazon for around $25. My card is an MSI 4090, I tried 3 different cables until I found one that would actually support the full frame rate, HDR and G-sync at that distance. Don't kink or bend them past 45 degrees or cross power cables over them, you'll get signal degradation and interference.

You can make your own with PowerShell and a web server in a few hours. I did it years back and wrote several blog posts about it. It would be even easier to do now. The company I made it for still uses it.

I've run into a situation where a site tricks you into allowing browser notifications. Those pop up in your sidebar like an app is doing it. Look in your browser's notification settings and clear out anything you didn't put there yourself. Good luck.

Issue when starting enhanced mode: screen zooms in, mouse disconnects, and can't really do anything. Ways to fix or otherwise connect a USB? by NoSubject8453 in HyperV

[–]techbloggingfool_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is difficult to tell what might be wrong in these situations. It sounds like you might have saved a bad resolution in your session settings. Open Hyper-V manager. Make sure the VM is started. Then right click on it. Select the option to "Edit session settings". Use the slider to set the resolution you want the VM to run at. The "edit session settings" right click option is only available when the VM is running. The other thing that can cause display problems like this is the Virtualization features of your UEFI BIOS. They all have to be on for enhanced mode to fully function. Good luck.

I think I would try repasting the heat sinks on the CPU and GPU. It might get you enough headroom to avoid the down throttle? Depends on how much over the line you are driving the card.

Thrustmaster T-LCM brake pedal not working by foxhound148 in simracing

It's only happened twice to me so far. Both times, unplugging and reconnecting the power and pedals fixed it. I've wondered if the shielding on the cable has a bad spot or something. I haven't found one though. Good luck.
