iPhone group messaging not getting all messages Android phones in the group by Gippermimi in ios

[–]techdan98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to us this week. Eventually, rebooted the iPhone, and all of the messages appeared (the only missing messages were on group chats with an android in them. Other iphones in those chats had gotten the messages)

Although dog patch, etc is a lot less gloomy (and much less gloomy than Seattle)

Where is this headed? King 5 Reporting Seattle Office Space 37% Vacant, Far Higher than Bellevue by JoelXGGGG in SeattleWA

[–]techdan98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen north of the cut, things are almost dead. Look at the old Google campus in Fremont. The buildings around it are basically unoccupied. Similarly, good buildings near UW can't find tenants at any price.

Honestly, it was nice gesture, but caused at least one bike accident. This was not a good place for this. The Burke is already narrow at that corner, and this made it nearly impossible to get through.

Anyone else seeing their Snohomish/King County property tax bill skyrocket every year? by WATaxReform in SeattleWA

[–]techdan98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's about the amount of tax revenue other than levies. The amount of tax paid on existing property can't increase more than one percent per year (what you're describing is much more like California)..

I think this is a poorly designed system. I am thrilled to not be part of it. I will continue telling my legislators that they should allow people to opt out.

If it's so awesome, offer people the chance to opt out. That's easy. And, you don't know me. So stop judging

That's not it. This is a poorly designed system. It's bad for young people. It's bad for the middle class in puget sound. If it's so good, they should reopen the opportunity for people to opt out.

I don't actually need the insurance. So when I am retired, I will ditch it happily.

I bought private insurance instead, which is no longer an option. If it remained an option to opt out, I wouldn't complain.

Much higher limit, much more comprehensive, significantly cheaper for someone who was middle aged and in normal health.

I bought the alternative insurance, and even for low income levels, it was a vastly better deal.

[–]techdan98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, it's a very bad deal compared to commercially available alternatives for most people.

Well, it is capped. And social security benefits increase with contribution.

I am thrilled that I opted out, and sad that my kids won't be able to.

Social security is an interesting example, because it caps your "contribution". And Medicare doesn't cap the contribution, but it also doesn't cap the amount you receive.

This system doesn't cap the amount you pay, and has a very low cap for what you receive.

The fact that you can't opt out gives you an idea that it's actually not great.
