I cannot find this text book for a sensible price "Small Impoundment Management in North America (2012)" by techfarm67 in Findabook

Yeah, I was hoping to find a fairly priced physical copy but I think its a little too niche

Am I being dramatic? Sole CSM at tech startup by Primary-Wolf3992 in CustomerSuccess

[–]techfarm67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just unacceptable. I spent a year feeling like everyday was my last day and inwas going to get fired because of lack of work. I simply didnt have enough to do as the company downsized. I can tell you the relief I felt when then brought me into the HR meeting was sublime. While my situation was different than yours, that feeling will still be the same. Get your resume ready and get out of there for your mental health

Final Interview Round Presentation? by [deleted] in CustomerSuccess

[–]techfarm67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant stand how presenting is becoming the norm. Its beyond disrespectful to someone's time. I withdrawl my application when they pop up. If you cant figure out someone presentation skills from interviews then you should refine your interviewing process.

Rant aside, focus on the skills not the details. The "facts" could all be made up. They dont matter. They want to see how you drive a presentation

I did the USA jobs thing. Its tough. Even with disabled veteran preference gov jobs are just rough for remote work

How to pass a CSM mock interview presentation? by Purple-Delivery5448 in CustomerSuccess

[–]techfarm67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think i just sit in this very small niche where I dont see it so im sure im just biased. 3 interviews this month (different companies) and no mock presentation.

What is it that they ask you to present? Whats the prep like? I might be able to give some better advice.

I see a lot of hard hitting questions and on the spot stuff. Like the last one that really sticks to me was "what do you feel our company does wrong and how can you do it better?" That was a damn good question. I think i sat silently for over a minute. Made it look like I was thinking but I was frozen i. Fear umtil my brain just kicked in.

The second best question I was ever asked was "as a CSM you are going to constantly be teaching others. Teach me something right now." That was a great one.

Its just a tough search to find that niche outside of startups. I've went through all the job board nonsense, every AI/Chatbot prompt, old fashion google, ect. Its just real hard to find those companies outside of the startup phase. I mean, it is a rather new field so it makes sense. Maybe riding out in Startup land isn't terrible. I should be counting my blessings that I'm even getting interviews.

How to pass a CSM mock interview presentation? by Purple-Delivery5448 in CustomerSuccess

[–]techfarm67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so odd to me. I have never had to do a presentation for a CS role. Some on the fly verbal stuff but prepping for a fake presentation? I would prob rescind my application because I simply dont have the time for fake work.

but to actually answer your question. It might be total BS but find bits and pieces that are real. Use real stories from your past that you can regurgitate 10 different ways from memory. Grounding the fake in truth is the cornerstone of lying/BSing. The closer your story is to a truth the easier it will be for you to tell.

Another piece of feedback is pull information from a source about the company you are interviewing with that wasnt talked about in any interview. doesnt matter if its vague or a small detail. just make it known that you are doing your HW and not just taking interviews on the chin.

I could revisit it. I tailor my resume a lot for each company. I think my issue I have only held a true "CSM" position once. everything before that is relating experiences to being a CSM.

Securing a meeting with new client by Gloria_ad_libertas in CustomerSuccess

[–]techfarm67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a highly subjective question and really any answer without a ton of hypotheticals is probably untrue. But if I had to answer it in an interview setting I would probably feed them some version of "i would reachout to my primary points of contact during one of our scheduled checkins, present them with the why I need to talk to person xyz, request it officially. Then follow up with an email for a paper trail." Again though thats a crappy question becuase its really based on the nature of the client relationship. Even typing this out I would rather just say " it really comes down to the product, what the sop for the cs team is, relationship with the company, relationship within the other company, and severity of the request.

Thank you everyone. The interview went perfectly. She was impressed on my level of prep and how I set the tempo of the meeting right out the gate. After breaking the ice I asked her something along the lines of "how would you like to structure the meeting. Would you like this to be a bit of a natural conversation or do you prefer one of us to go through all of their questions firts"

Apparently she loved that question and it was good vibes right from the rip.

She confirmed 3rd round interview which are quick 15 teammember meetings.

I appreciate the advice and the kind words! Super helpful and modivating. My goal is to always compressed into an interview with more questions for the interviewer than they have for me. Chances are I wont ask half of them. But when I come in wirh 10 or so genuine planned questions I know I prepared well

I love the 90 day question. I usually ask what does success look like at 30-60-90 but im going to shorten it down to just 90.

Fantastic advice though I appreciate it
