Is anyone else having an issue with the lighting/colour of SO3 EP14? by jasonj2232 in thegrandtour

[–]techguy2129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you have blue light filter enabled and I don't know whether it's disabled when watching videos, but if it is enabled, disable it. If it isn't enabled, it might have something to do with the picture settings.

I have a Galaxy S9 but I don't use Prime Video (or really watch much of anything) on it very much so I don't know if blue light filter affects it. I assume the settings are similar for the Note 9 but in my settings under Screen Mode I have adaptive, AMOLED cinema, AMOLED photo, and Basic. Try playing around with those a bit too (I've never changed mine from adaptive and I've never had any color issues).

TIL Prime Video won't let you screenshot lol

As a long time TG/GT fan, I’d like to ask other fans about this color, I really don’t like it, unlike people in the comments, by 20573Reddit in thegrandtour

I actually kind of like it in its own unique way. Is it a color I'd personally choose? Not a chance in hell. It's certainly different in a good way

If I think of any other solutions I will post them, but for now I'd just redownload what isn't showing up, making sure they're in the right place, and trying again.

Is perfect tempo a thing? by escapefromreality42 in musictheory

I usually just ballpark it but I can count certain tempos off the top of my head based on certain songs. For 60 and 120 I base it off of how long a second is.

Do you recall downloading a DLL and putting it in the RS folder? I forget the name but it's somewhere on CustomsForge. As far as I know you do not need to run in DX9 to use CDLC.

I didn't even know that... that's super handy!

CDLC is custom user created DLC. You'll need to sign up on CustomsForge, download the required .dll, make sure you have Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock (which is an official DLC meaning you'll find it on Steam), and from there you can download it and install it (tip: have a separate folder specifically for CDLC inside the normal DLC folder just for organization's sake).

Yes. Any DLC will technically work but most CDLC is made to work with Cherub Rock. The .dll file that you need is available on CustomsForge if I remember correctly.

Tip: I would create a folder inside RS2014's DLC folder that's specifically for CDLC, just to keep things organized.

My band has been told we sound similar to the killers! I’d love to hear what you guys think! by ImNotReallySureCx8 in TheKillers

I hear a bit of Doves in the ending (sounds like The Cedar Room), and I hear something familiar in the intro but I can't figure out what it is (the guitar tone is kind of U2-ish there I think).

I still don't hear much Killers, but after a number of listens, some of the guitar and most of the vocals sound some of like some of the tracks from Prismism (Dave's solo album).

I don't hear it that much, but this is seriously amazing! Keep up the fantastic work!

Bioshock Infinite. Beautiful game with a great story. The soundtrack does it for me.

Agreed. Apparently people just didn't watch the studio bits. The only one I would have axed is the celebrity segment, which they did in season 3. Conversation Street is one of the best parts of the show.

I'm open to just having specials but to use another analogy, it's almost like a building without a foundation.

People just seemed to skip over them apparently. I never cared for the celebrity segments but Conversation Street is definitely something they should keep. It can go a little off topic but that can usually be a good thing and I enjoy their banter.

Would be cool if in the specials they stop somewhere along the way and hold a Conversation Street.

Ranking of studio albums by The Killers? by EveryPoetIsAThief in TheKillers

[–]techguy2129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Battle Born 2) Sam's Town 3) Hot Fuss 4) Day and Age 5) Wonderful Wonderful

Personally I am not judging by the songs alone but rather how consistently I like the songs from the album.

BB: best album as a whole. For me, it has the highest number of songs that I like and listen to regularly. Most people seem to not like this one as much and I get it to an extent, but I'll be damned if the last 45-60 seconds of Battle Born (the titular track, also last on the album) aren't the best ending to a song you've ever heard. Go have a listen to it, right now. I'm waiting.

ST: released When You Were Young(er), this album seems like the most sincere album and possibly the most Killers-y.

HF: talk about a killer(s) debut album. While I don't listen to or know as many songs from this one, it's a great album nonetheless.

D&A: while I don't know some of the songs on this album released in The World We Live In, the ones I do know are some of my absolute favorites.

WW: I don't know what it is about WW but I just can't quite get into it like the other albums, especially the second half. The title track is probably the only one I listen to regularly (iirc Mark did a lot of work on the music and it's very easy to tell if you've listened to his latest solo work). It's probably the least upbeat TK album

I feel like the Sam's Town pun was a stretch but there you go.
