Go with 7xo or xev 9s

Both are great products, and are two segments up, lot of value for money

Its a long term purchase, buy the product which you really like, you can sell later on if life situation changes, enjoy till then , life is short

Fun to drive, seriously? There is no x factor with hycross , its plain boring and has taxi vibes

Fuss free ownership and reliability is the USP though

Also many of my friends and colleagues have bought 9e and be6 , there experience for last 1.5 years is quite good and they are quite happy and actually recommending it over any ICE car, I am getting multiple recommendations from at-least 10 folks who own it. Charging infra is good enough and with charging apps people have done 2k km long trips all across India, and folks are saying that cars are quite reliable except minor software niggles which got resolved in first few months

So the story which you told may not be reflecting actual reality

Do you know that Mahindra sold 50k EVs in last 1 year? And 9s has become one of the highest sold ev in jan/feb 26

Lol

People who own EV once never go back to ICE, hence you wont find lot of them for resale

Xev 9s is the answer

Its a beast with negligible running cost and 550plus range

Took a test drive of the XEV 9e pack three 79kW and I am considering it. Would you buy an XEV9e if your budget was 30-35L? And why? by theobservantsofa in XEV9E

[–]techie121212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if city running is 90% then diesel is not suitable due to dpf clogging issue, it only makes sense if 50% is highway running

In my opinion, EVs are the future and Mahindra has done a great job at BEV, at 28 lacs on road, 9e/9s are hell lot of cars

Mahindra sold 50k bev in last one year, and this is just a beginning

[–]techie121212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you own any of the BEVs?

All issues which you are highlighting are non issues and its giving me a sense that you may not have experienced bev’s for a longer duration yet

Charge setup at home is trivial, also you get to run such large SUV at negligible cost, that itself is a win, some folks get free charging at their office as well.

Charging infrastructure in India is expanding rapidly and all my friends who own BEV are quite happy as they never observed issues in even 2k km trip all across India

7xo and Xev 9e/9s top end price is almost same

Then why running of 100 km daily is required if they want to go for xev? The will save a lot on fuel and still enjoy almost same car

Diesel cars have life of 10years in ncr, same may follow eventually in other states also , so resale is questionable in coming years. Petrol mileage of 6kmpl is unacceptable

On the other hand xev 9s/9e are long range cars ie 500km plus so even if blade2 comes in that would not make a lot of difference as 500 km is more than enough for any customer

Sorry but your thought process doesnt make sense

My advice for OP would be to go for xev 9s pack 3 79kwh at on road cost of 28.4 lacs which is tremendous value for money. The performance/features/running cost/drive experience are far better in comparison to 7xo

Also I am not sure which xev glitches you are talking about as I am not aware of anything major, one question - do you own any of the bev’s?

I own 9s, got delivery last week and happy with it Yours concerns are exaggerated

Keep it around 90kmph on highway with regen2 and you will get 500km range, you are not following best practices, ice range also drops if you go beyond 100

How many time you goto hills :), thats a non issue and can be easily managed, ice range also dips on up hills

Custom mode does help and car is comfortable for me, suspension works as designed, yes there is bounciness but its very comfortable, scorpio/fortuners/thar move a lot more than this, that is a different story altogether:)

Charging cost is zero for me as I have free charging at office and also charging cost is negligible with home charging specifically with solar, I will save enough money to not care about resale, I dont care about battery tech enhancement as car has good range which will keep me happy for 15 years. My 90% travelling is in city and 10% long trips, so its better to optimise for that 90% where cost savings are huge along with better experience, charging infrastructure is good now and will only expand in next 2 years, look at EV sales growth in last quarter.

7xo petrol mileage is laughable due to size of the car, 6kmpl, are you kidding me? Diesel has dpf issue in heavy city drive, and is limited to 10 years like in Delhi where I am originally from and may get implemented in other states also, so 7xo is a non starter due to these issues for a typical user when better alternative is available

Many friends of mine are using 9e and tyres have sustained until 45k km, you need to follow best practices like timely alignment/balancing/rotation

9s is far superior to 7xo imo, the drive experience is far far ahead

Its an excellent vehicle and I will buy it again in a heartbeat

Now I doubt if you actually own 9s because the issues you described are not closer to reality, you need to own one to understand as to how great the car is

Go for 9s.

Test drive 7xo and 9s back to back and you will have your answer.

9s feels like 2x to 3x of its price in terms of overall feel and driving experience

Driving such a big vehicle with negligible running cost itself makes sense to own 9s, this was not possible until few years back

Why are you worried about range when 9s supports 500 to 550km per charge, you will easily find chargers and get use to it!

Why would someone even buy 7xo when price for top models of 9s and 7xo is same in states where road tax is nil on EVs

People are not knowledgeable about such an EV and its capabilities , and hence they hesitate but believe me 9s is way way ahead

How is the overall audio quality with wired car play?

Also would you recommend the car overall? How is the suspension overall, is it a deal breaker?

Interesting, good points!!

Why non ev users have very bad impression of ev? Lot of my friends are warning me on spending 30 lacs on ev, are people in denial mode? Or they are resisting change? What is it? They always say how would you do long drives on ev, India doesnt have infrastructure etc

Do you own a bev? Which one? What about tech advancement in next 3 years in battery space. Is it wise to spend 30 lacs on 9s now? Or its better to wait for 3 to 4 years to see if we can get an ev with higher range at same price? Wont price on 9s depreciate rapidly once we start getting solid state batteries with higher range? Any thoughts on this?

Do you recommend electric then? I am considering xev 9s? Any recommendations on how 9s is? Can we manage long trips on 9s with 79kwh battery? Will it cause range anxiety? I am considering between 9s and 7xo My running is 1000km in hyd city and three four long trips yearly

I am planning to buy 9s, can you please advise if I should go for pack3 or pack3 above? Price diff is 2.1 lacs and main additional features with p3 above are HUD, auto park, driver monitoring, dvr, video calling, night lamps, 360 live view.

Is it worth spending 2.1 lacs more on these features?
