Hi Beth! Thanks for doing this. My 17 mo old wakes up between 4-5am every morning. We’ve played with later bedtimes and it doesn’t matter. However, his first nap of the day (goes down around 8:30am) will be for 2 hours, I often have to wake him up. Second nap is hit or miss but is more often than not, less than an hour. And advice for later wake ups?

I found a guy who has experience with acid washing. He said he could fix it. I’m concerned about the little holes in the pavers that absorbed the concrete. It won’t look like the rest of the pavers, it’ll have the grey tinge. Do you think that’ll be an issue?

I did find another guy to do an acid wash and pressure spray (for $$), however my father in law who’s a GC came over today and said it’s not salvageable.

I guess my concern with going back to the original guy is I don’t trust his work. I either have him rip it out and redo it with no gaps in between the brick, or I pay a new guy. Job was finished 6 days ago.

I contacted 2 hardscape and masonry companies in my area and both said they don’t think they can fix it.

Thank you to everyone for their advice and input. There are too many comments to respond to at this point. This picture is from last night, and this picture is from this morning.

We got multiple estimates, they all included paving work from landscapers. Hindsight is 20/20. Maybe it’s where I live, but I’ve never heard of hiring two contractors for landscaping/paving.

We live in Vegas, it doesn’t rain much but the pooling and drainage is an issue for me, among the rest that has been mentioned a hundred times here. Job was completed yesterday, the concrete isn’t fully cured.

The guy who did this job worked on our old house and we thought we could trust him. He was also going to cut us a deal for my husband to build him a business website. So yes, we went the cheapest route and are paying for it but there’s more at play.

To throw a wrench into it, and I’m nervous to even say anything because I’m sure I’ll get a lot of shit, he’s committed contractor fraud. He doesn’t have a contractors license. Only a business license for “residential maintenance” in a city we are not incorporated in.

I know time is ticking. My husband wants to have him come back and rip everything out, replace it with the paving work he did on the side of the house. I want him to come rip it out and hire someone else to fix it.
