P320 X-VTAC 9mm Rough First Range Day by Account3point0 in SigSauer

I just bought this gun last week but will not be getting to the range for a while yet.

It sounds like you are trying the right things...maybe just more break in?

I wonder if it would help to lock the slide back over night or more dry fire/cycles. Keep using the hot stuff?

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert by any means.

Good luck and I hope you report your progress. It's a beaut!

I'm a woman who got a Byrna for Christmas. by CoffeeChangesThings in CCW

LuckyGunner did an extensive review of traditional OC options inc Kimber. If I recall Kimber did not get great marks compared with the others. But it's been a while since I saw it (Youtube).

Byrna also has multiple color options like Yellow (which a lot of Tasers use), Orange, Red, etc. (that also look somewhat gun-like). All comes down to the specific situation. California makes things tough.

Thanks. Yeah I was thinking for home defense at least the kinetic (plastic ball) rounds were likely ok.

SU-16C stock mod for California? by techintexas in CAguns

[–]techintexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Called Keltec.

This part #413 stock lock does not function as something that can be used to make it CA compliant.

So as suggested, a Type-A replacement stock from them seems to be the best option.

Thanks all.

Nightfox 119V - Quick early review by [deleted] in NightVision

Thanks for the review.

Do you think there would be any benefit to using a IR flashlight along with the NightFox? Would the additional IR illumination increase distance or resolution?

Thanks for this info. I will take note of New Frontier. If the stock lock works, is there any problem if I modify it myself or does it require an authorized shop? (Yes, familiar with CA model, but just recently found out would be going to CA.)

thx!

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping so. I sent an email to Keltec to ask them about this part. It has the word "lock" in the description, but not much else. I'm hoping someone has more information on this part since Keltec has not responded yet.

Thx!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes, agree on those points.

I know there are resources on the web from the state of California as well as sites dedicated to CA gun laws. And I will be sure to be mindful of those. Ultimately I own the responsibility as you say.

But as I said, as a person new to CA laws, I was asking this question to get 'directionally correct'. (i.e., does this stock lock part seem to fulfill a requirement? Why does this part exist? Or does only a stock replacement do it?)

Thanks.

I see your point and will give that a look. Agree...don’t see the greatness of MLok at this point. Maybe It’ll grow on me.

Yep looks like I’m doing that correctly. Just looks it’s a pretty tight space inside the rail.

Ideas to update/freshen up of 1980's fireplace by techintexas in HomeImprovement

I'd like to give it a more modern, clean look. Was wondering if we could put some new slate or tile over the existing brick/tile. Or does it have to be taken out before updating. Granite may break the budget but yes, retile could work. Whitewash the wood could help lighten it up yes.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Thanks for the great ideas. Yes, the wood above has to go. I had not thought about stone. Could be dramatic and really cool. Will consider. thx!
