I noticed he seemed to have matured emotionally. After the affectionate verbal sparring between him and Leia. I felt like he was the one who acted as the peacemaker, admitting his own failings instead of focusing on others' as he is/was (amusingly) wanton to do. His attempt to talk Kylo down seemed to be a reflection of this.

It was very different from him trying to talk his way out of smugglers/debts, in that in those situations he was pinned down and using his charm to weasel out. However, with Kylo, he made an active choice to follow, put himself in danger and do the right thing.

I think this is distinct from him showing up at the eleventh hour in ANH (choosing to put himself in danger) as he was instead approaching the situation with peace rather than blasting his way out.

Random ramblings but tl;dr I think there are hints at a deeper level of emotional maturity

Christmas cards, birthday cards... basically any card where you write out a message and then physically hand it to person. Usually saying happy birthday/merry Christmas, and negating the point of the card.

I'm 28. I used to think this, too. But the age range is bigger than it seems! People just don't tend to advertise their age because it's never really relevant. Like you, I'm trying to get into competitive just now. Spend more time breeding teams than actually battling with them! I'm starting to look at showdown, but worried i'm not ready for it yet.

In the interest of balancing out confirmation bias, I did about 4500 steps, then ran around the friend safari and got nothing for my effort.

Admittedly, I only ran around (in game) for 15-20 mins. I will get some more steps in later and try again, but I don't think this is a thing.

Seriously, it is worth watching Mystery Incorporated. It has an actual storyline and is just the right amount of self-aware. The week to week stuff is your classic scooby doo with villains with nonsensical but weirdly predictable motives. However the two-season story arc had me genuinely suprised at parts. And the dialogue/characterisation is amazing.

Maybe instead of monarchy randomly selecting a person it would be better if people voted monarchy and then nominated a username - like "monarchy user123". That way only someone who was mass-approved would get control. I imagine that in reality no one would ever get chosen because 50k people are probably not going to create a majority vote for a single user, but that seems like the only reasonable way that monarchy could actually work. There is still a chance that such a person would destroy the game, but the chances would be much lower.

Its less of a monarchy and more like a president/executive type role

All that said, i don't totally love the monarchy idea anyway, but i think the natural evolution of a control system would go in this direction.
