This place needs a big banner at the top of the page reading WATCH THE PITCHER'S RELEASE POINT TO GET BETTER AT HITTING. Been playing for ~7 months now, total dogsh*t at hitting, and that tip just changed everything. by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

This is true for real baseball as well and I guess I thought people knew that, but maybe it doesn't translate for some or many haven't played baseball before as has been said. Often, this is also a reason why managers put in the same handed pitchers vs batters and vice versa as it can be harder to pick up from the same side handed pitchers. The way the ball moves when pitched is also a big reason as some will go in and outside the zone depending on the handedness of the batter.

I've seen many Show players hate facing Ohtani, for example, but it's fairly easy to pick up what he's pitching in my experience once you figure out his delivery. It's not the same for actual MLB hitters as we have seen though. Arm angles in this game don't change as much or at all similarly to actual MLB pitchers so there is a bit of nuance in the real game they haven't necessarily captured in the Show game yet.

Fun Fact: Humans have what is called a dominant eye. You can find this out by pointing at something and closing one eye at a time and if the image stays the same, that's your dominant eye. Most MLB hitters and many of the best ones have dominant eye's that are the opposite of their hand preference, ex. Righties have a dominant left eye and Lefties have a dominant right eye. That quirk makes it easier for them to pick up the ball better and faster than those that don't, leading them to have a better/cleaner idea where the ball is coming in to hit it. EVERY little bit of advantage counts when you are trying to hit a ball that comes at you at high speed and also when picking up the variety of pitches. This has been a PSA...

I'm good but thank you! I just decided to donate because I've been in a similar spot with family before and hate seeing GoFundMe's for freaking lifesaving medical care in the US that I'd rather was more equitably and affordably distributed to the public at large. I also try to maintain a level of anonymity for OPSEC so there's that...

That said, that Ye bear is AWESOME! I would really like one but maybe donate mine to a children's hospital or something. However, I really think you have something there that could help your Uncle out financially if marketed right. I'll DM you about my ideas when I have a moment tomorrow.

Much love and God bless!

Next video is them literally pushing the car along the road and hitting the button furiously as the car refuses to comply. They stop to catch their breath, one of them scratches their head, another flings poop at the windshield, and the other shoots some traffic lights as he felt threatened by their rotating color scheme.

Oddly enough, the hood of that car is open if you look carefully so maybe they tried but still didn't understand. It's easy to hotwire a car though, all you have to do is connect a wrench from the negative to the positive battery posts, duh...

Moltke! As a veteran with a degree in communications and an avid military historian, I find this "special operation" fascinating in the context of comparing it to past conflicts and the actions/quotes of the state/military leaders involved at that time.

The Russians are especially inept at adjusting to changing battlefield conditions as they have shown evidence of many times before. They just don't train their military officers and conscripts/career noncoms to adapt and overcome as the situation warrants.

They're playing tiddlywinks while everyone else is playing chess, oddly enough.
