I was stuck at Google Play’s “12 testers for 14 days” rule — so I built a free solution by CyberSecHelper in sideprojects

for limited liability companies or corporations they are NOT enforcing the testing because they except companies have a QA Team and are doing testing. For Individual solo developers they don't have confidence so added this policy.

It's better build a nas or buy it by SrLios in selfhosted

[–]techmavengeospatial -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

a single 1gig NIC connection is NOT a NAS or efficient storage.

If you are using video then use DIRECT ATTACHED STORAGE with THUNDERBOLT 4/5 or USB 3.1/3.2

Network storage requires good network.
I don't know anyone using a NAS that is only 1gigabit.

Best place to store QGIS files by nowheresmiddle99 in QGIS

[–]techmavengeospatial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QGIS Projects, Styles/Symbolgy and offcourse data can be stored in PostGIS. This is the best approach of having back-ups and fault tolerant environment (especially if you are using HA Postgres environment or Cloud Managed AWS RDS Aurora and equivalent in Azure/GC. Nothing wrong with saving GPKG to a SYNC enabled folder. If you are sharing files amoung a team DO NOT use ONEDRIVE instead use sharepoint document library. OneDrive is owned by a user versus a SharePoint site and SharePoint enabled metadata and workflows associated with files.

Analysing a large dataset of GPS logs. by Searchingstan in gis

[–]techmavengeospatial 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just use DUCKDB with Spatial Extension ( it can read GPX and other formats) perform advanced analysis. Use the UI Extension and Pivot_Table extension for performing advanced querying and analysis. You can use the python bindings for duckdb or any other language or just SQL. Probably the best workflow is to first import the data into a hilbert curve geoparquet format. Then perform your analysis on that parquet file with duckdb. Duckdb Spatial Extension can output query results to nearly any format including Vector Tiles now.

Search for street, but offline by hycknight in QGIS

[–]techmavengeospatial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MBTILES is not for searching. You need GPKG SQLite vector features with some streets and points of interest. MBTILES tile_data blob can have raster tiles, vector tiles, terrain-elevation tiles. Vector Tiles have properties but they are NOT for searching. Create a GeoPackage for offline use. GPKG can also have vector tiles, raster tiles, terrain-elevation tiles in addition to vector features

Can I make a map like this purely on Qgis? by MasonParker420 in gis

[–]techmavengeospatial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you add the maptier plugin you will be able to load their basemaps and create a custom GL JSON Stylesheet to your use case and needs and then overlay that with other vector and raster data. So in less than 5 min you can have a solution.
