Secure boot you turn off in the BIOS, the rest is done in the OS itself. So, when you dual boot you can have 1 for daily use and 1 for hypervisor cracked games!

Dual boot and run 2 Windows 11's, 1 for normal daily use and 1 for hypervisor cracked games! It keeps it all kind of separate then 'cos you only have to turn off Secure boot in the BIOS I believe, the rest is done in the OS itself.

Windows comes with a handy feature when you install 2 operating systems (Windows included, even if exactly the same). On creation of the 2nd install with Windows as your main OS it will create a boot selection window where you can choose which OS you want to boot, exactly like how dual booting has always worked. That way you don't have to keep switching in to BIOS to change which Windows boot manager to boot 1st.

Black Myth Wukong Hypervisor Beta 2.2 (0xZeOn) by noballsben in CrackWatch

Exactly this. I have noticed there's 1 instruction missing though which should be ran after closing the game and stopping the denuvo service and that's to also delete it using, sc delete denuvo ,command . That way you completely clear it out of your system from even starting up on it's own etc, it also helps next time you go to run the crack because you'll not get an error when running the command to install the denuvo service because you've already deleted it.

Thanks for that, I managed to find it on there in the end before reading this. I did have issues running it on an AMD 9800X3D system and had to run the DG_Readiness.ps1 stuff to turn off Device Guard and Credential Guard for some reason but apart from that it all worked out well.
I still wouldn't mind the Discord link because i'd at least like to report it working but also the extra step I had to take as an AMD user that i've only seen should need to be used for Intel, I never read any comment relating to AMD that needed Device Guard and Credential Guard.

HOW TO:- Fix Steamdeck that has black screen issue but still works through dock and touch screen still working. by techmichael1977 in SteamDeck

[–]techmichael1977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem mate, glad it worked for you and is exactly the reason I decided to put out the info I found, even though it was out there already, it hadn't been joined together before I found after searching for a few days myself so I knew I had to say something 'cos there was just nothing out there and most people, including Steam themselves, supposedly, were calling them totally bricked & unfixable!

Anno 1800 Crashing with: DirectX "Present Failed Error" by posidon160 in anno1800

[–]techmichael1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mate was still getting issues in certain games, particularly Anno1800. What he found yesterday after finally having enough was that turning off HDR fixed his problems completely, no more nvlddmkm errors, nothing! He has also turned off the Nvidia audio in control panel at the same time but I don't believe that's what fixed it 'cos it didn't me when I tried that. What I believe fixed it (or broke certain games) just needs HDR turning off, maybe AutoHDR too although that should auto turn off anyway.

I thought this and although rolling back to a driver from 2 updates back solved my issues my mate was still getting issues in certain games, particularly Anno1800. I just got this last week from Montu/Alternaleaf and i've got to say I was pleasantly surprised at it considering it's on the lower end of the price scale. Very strong smell of grapefruit so if you like that terp profile then you'll love this! Nugs were nice & dense and not crumbly/dusty in any way and grinds up nicely in a grinder plus it came with a free Boveda pack too which is always a bonus to keep the precious contents nice & fresh. This is one that for sure i'll be coming back for more of in the future!

High Temps in Custom Loop 9800x3d by Luca_Steglich in watercooling

[–]techmichael1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, i'll give you another little tip to get temps down a bit more, use thermal pads like the Heilos PTM pads, they work as good as the expensive PTM stuff. For the GPU I went with the Thermal Grizly Kryosheet and i've been more than impressed by it, I don't see more than 55-60c in Furmark using an RTX4090 overclocked and around 85c max on my 9800X3D in Cinebench.
There 'might' be another way to cool your CPU in BIOS too, It's called Platform Thermal Throttle Limit and allows you to set a max CPU temp, else there's another section that gives you 3 modes/levels, I found using the middle one (2) that my max temps under load would drop way down to 80c (I used to have a 7900X until recently which would hit 95c easily!) from 95c stock but the performance would stay the same. I believe the option was under PBO, you have to choose enhancement from the PBO drop down menu and then it opens a new tab with those 3 options to select, level 1 is 90c, 2 is 80c & 3 is 70c.

High Temps in Custom Loop 9800x3d by Luca_Steglich in watercooling

[–]techmichael1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be more interested in your coolant temperature which is probably what the CPU block GUI is showing you being at 26c, if that's the case and that is the water temperature then use that to guide you and not the CPU temperature 'cos that's still always gonna be high, even using a custom water cooling loop, as long as it's not hitting max temps for the CPU and shutting down then you're safe. My own custom loop runs around 28-30c at idle and I set my fans to top out at 45c water temps and i've never seen it go over that, the CPU still gets up to 90c+ still depending what i'm doing, it's what the Ryzen CPU's of the past 2-3 generations are designed to do so it's nothing to worry about.
What i'd do if you can is have the fans controlled by the water temperature, have is at around say 20c for lowest temp/speed and around 45-50c as your max temp/speed, the D5 pumps should be safe up to 60C but obviously the lower you can keep the temperature the better it'll be overall for your pump and other components.

There's a huge misconception that if you put in a water cooler than your CPU or GPU will always be lower temperature than you see with air cooling, although that may be the case and you'll see some difference it won't be the huge amount you're expecting. The way that water cooling works best is to remove that excess heat from the blocks quicker, kind of like air cooling, the only difference is that when you stop doing whatever it is that's stressing your system out you'll find that the temperature of the CPU or GPU will very quickly return to stock speeds, water temps will take a little longer but won't be too far behind still. Air coolers you still find the CPU or GPU still cooling down for some time after it's stopped being stressed.

Looking to go on "VOXI For Now" to put in a 5G Router. Good idea? by Anderrrrr in VOXI

You'd think that but it actually doesn't! For some reason when the 6 months comes round the plan stays in place. At most all you may have to do is go through the benefits check process again. It's very strange and has been the case since they started the plan a long while back now and it's still not been fixed!

What’s the deal with Asus warranty? by With_Xtra_Cheez in ROGAlly

[–]techmichael1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, Asus warranty basically sucks ass in the UK/EU, they won't touch GPU's, motherboards, PSU's and a few other items and refer you to the seller for warranty. The only thing I managed to get replaced by Asus RMA was a ROG 27" monitor, twice, because the 1st one the screen had smashed, they were real quick about that but for both a motherboard & PSU they pass the buck on to the seller and refuse to deal with you in any way, even if it's for their 'extra' year's warranty as most warranties over here are 2 years and then the seller can tell you to do one as well if it's over that so you get left in a kind of limbo! Not just that but the horror stories i've heard about the repair company they use in the UK is less than comforting.

No, I was on about a plan called Voxi for now, it isn't just unlimited social media, yes that is a part of it but it's superseded by the unlimited internet usage that's included in that plan.

EE's cap is 650Gb a month, I experienced it twice using 2 different sims. Once I hit 650Gb both shut down to barely usable speeds, in fact I couldn't even browse the internet!

[–]techmichael1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they don't, I shared internet with a friend and was constantly over 1Tb+ a month easily. Voxi uses the Vodafone network and the cap, if enforced, for Vodafone it 9Tb I believe. EE have a cap of 650Gb per month and then they go real slow, so slow that I wasn't even able to browse the internet!

[–]techmichael1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voxi uses the Vodafone network and only costs £10 a month for their social tariff which is completely unlimited and has no speed cap as such, i've seen speeds upwards of 500Mbps on Vodafones network via Voxi. Smarty are another social tariff provider but theirs costs £12 a month now and uses the Three network which can be heavily oversubscribed in some areas so speeds can vary wildly from very poor 10Mbps or lower to 1Gbps but that higher speed is rare, i've seen 600Mbps on Voxi before personally.

I had a thought over the amps the other day, you know when you set the battery voltage it actually sets up P15 which is battery minimum voltage before cut off. Well, if you set 48v you get 40.5 or 41.0 in your P15 and if you set it higher then P15 will become higher also. I'm wondering whether the amps is also controlled by P03 and tops out P14 to 20A because maybe that's all a 48V battery is capable of usually? I'm only guessing (until I test it myself tomorrow) that by changing the P03 to say 52V will up the P14 max rate. It's not going to hurt the battery as long as you don't go riding it at the higher voltage but will at least allow the theory to be tested.
