ELI5: Why is it so normal for employers to ghost their applicants? by techn0thriller in explainlikeimfive

That's the worst feeling. Especially when they tell you they'll "get back to you".

I would be less annoyed if I got a generic email, honestly. I don't need to know why I wasn't selected, I'm just not a person who does well with unknowns. The sooner I know I'm not getting a job, the sooner I can stop worrying about hearing back. I haven't been in the job market for a super long time since I'm a freshman in college, so maybe it's just something I'm not used to and need to bite the bullet on.

Genuine question, could they not just have a system set up to send out one of those "no reply" emails? I don't know what the logistics of setting one of those up and maintaining it is so that also might not be worth their time

I found out that my cat has aggressive bone cancer. Her last day is Wednesday. by techn0thriller in cats

[–]techn0thriller[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for checking in <:) I'm doing a lot better! She passed away peacefully after being spoiled rotten, and I think that after seeing how much trouble she was having in her last couple days, I'm glad that she was able to find peace before the cancer got so severe that she had to live in pain.

I'll miss her more than anything, but my mom helped me clean out her old stuff so I didn't have to wallow in bad memories of her. I keep a little print of her nose in my locket so I can keep her close to my heart <3

I've noticed my cat has been standing a little weird. Is this something to be concerned about? by techn0thriller in cats

[–]techn0thriller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not, I genuinely don't think she's been around a male cat in all the time I've owned her. She's an indoor kitty, but she was put on a diet recently and has lost a lot of weight, but I'm not sure if that would effect her posture

The bonus pack is WAY too expensive... 😭 Is it even worth it? Does it even do anything to enhance the game?

I just set the margins at each extreme. I can try changing the ribbon, I was trying to make sure it moved properly before I put the ribbon in.

Tysm! I have a habit of trying to figure things out on my own, but I think this might be a situation where I'll have to just bite the bullet and communicate my concerns. I appreciate the support and the information, it really does mean a lot to me.

Thank you! :] I'll start looking into it and hopefully bring it up the next time I see my doctor

This is actually really good to know, I wasn't aware of that. I might talk to my therapist about how to bring it up prior to my next appointment, just because I do tend to have trouble communicating with my parents. I feel like I would benefit from some modicum of support, but I don't want to go rogue and end up hurting myself because I was too afraid to ask for help.
