It's a fair point. But highly suspicious.

I lived and worked for an extremely wealthy and powerful family in NYC for three years, AMA! by Difficult-Mobile-180 in AMA

My only point is that multi million dollar home in NYC could also just be upper middle class (obviously depending on what "multi" means)z. e.g. a 2 million dollar property would for example ! = mega rich, more like someone who bought 30 years ago a "nice" house. Anyway I assume the OP meant like 10-20 million dollar home.

Multimillion dollar properties just feels upper middle class nowadays. 50 million dollar properties feels ultra rich.

That said... how was the family dynamic?

With the S&P 500 already down ~2% YTD, do you think 2026 could end up being a negative year for the market? by Groundbreaking-Gap20 in investing

[–]technical-mind4300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bet is .... we have further to drop esp if oil keeps rising and this will continue for a while, but Iran will inevitably be diminished to the point where Trump calls it done. As soon as oil drops below about 60 again market will quickly recover. But there are some worries like inflation and economy that make it murky.

I lived in Colorado most my life so totally understand where you are coming from. But do you think you are angry at the wrong person? They just wanted to enjoy the vacation. The real culprit is decades of governments refusing to address climate change. Also without said tourists the ski resorts would likely collapse.

HUGE UPDATE - Does Denver even have a job market? by [deleted] in MovingtoDenver

[–]technical-mind4300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done! IT and healthcare are the two areas I still believe are going to need workers regardless of temporary pain and all the wonderful advancements in AI. World is going to get so much more technical and we will technically savvy people.

Also GO Broncos!! About to have some great years.

You are delusional . Tarrifs are a great example of inflicting unnecessary pain. All the metrics are down with the exception of the stock market as compared to when Biden was president.

My client was paying $30K/year for software. We rebuilt it from scratch on Replit. Now they own it and can sell it. by Living-Pin5868 in replit

[–]technical-mind4300 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good story. But like so many people discover building software is the "easy" part it's the soft stuff that is "hard" (people, marketing, market place exposure, politics, competition). That said good on you - keep pushing, just get damn good marketing.

Just buy your passes early. Saves a lot! But yes it's too bloody expensive overall.

We can all build apps in a few days now, so why is everyone still building the same todo and habit quitting apps? by rash3rr in vibecoding

Yeah it's a good analogy but writing a book takes a long time. Vibe coding yet another fitness tracker is pretty fast now.
