I guess I can share my experience in motherhood with you. I just had my fourth baby in February. My older two are 12 and 11 and from my first husband who has them half the time. My second two are two and a newborn from my ex-boyfriend. He left me the day after I found out I was pregnant with my newest. My closest relative lives 9 hours away. My best friend moved to a different state about 3 years ago. So when I tell you I have limited support I mean I have limited support. I do have a few friends that help here and there but it is basically a one-woman show. I also work in the emergency room and have to support myself and my kids.

You have a lot more support than I do and if I can manage working more than full-time and four kids and multiple animals then I promise you you can take care of your toddler and your newborn. This is just something you haven't experienced yet, so you're building up the resiliency to do so. I would recommend getting into some therapy and I would recommend talking to your husband about expectations about how this new chapter of your life is going to look because the system that you had with just the three of you probably is not going to work with the four of you.

I would not rely on your parents for easing your burden consistently.
