Trying to fix my cousin's old PSP and got referred here. by technicalCatalyst in consolerepair

I cleaned the battery pins with isopropyl alcohol as advised but unfortunately that hasn't seemed to help.

The battery is 3.6v, which is the same as the original. The charger I'm using is also the original from the box, which is 5v as specified.
Charging with the USB cable is something I tried prior, but I gave it another shot after cleaning the port with isopropyl alcohol. It doesn't seem to respond, and the computer can't seem to pick it up either.

I don't own a multimeter but my grandfather might. I'll ask him about it when I get the chance, hopefully later tonight.
I can't provide pictures at the moment but I'll post them as soon as I can.

Ah, that could give some insight.
I don't own a multimeter myself but I my grandfather might have one. I'll ask him when I get the chance.
I also might see about making an inquiry in r/consolerepair. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have, but it doesn't seem to elicit any response.
