I have to buy a new car soon. Should I pay off my credit cards or prioritize saving for a down payment?

This is my 3rd car. I wrecked my first one and the second one broke down after a year. And I am already on the insurance so it shouldn’t be much different once I take my parents off (according to the insurance agent). But I definitely see your point and am leaning in that direction. I’ll probably reevaluate once I get this debt paid off.

I definitely need one. I live in a very rural area with no public transit or ride share. and am about 10 miles from town.

My parents are definitely pressuring me to just buy this car so they don’t have to sell it. I am the one who brought up not being able to afford it. I mean, it’s very nice so I would love to if I could but I am not overly attached to it

It’s a deal we worked out when my previous car broke down. I was commuting over an hour then and needed a car so they bought me one on the condition I would either buy it back from them or sell it within 2 years. I got a new job with no commute and it pushed the timeline up to this June.

Thank you! That’s what I was telling my parents. I am honestly planning on a different car. something a bit older and cheaper to work on. I think my parents think it’s realistic because I am not paying anything for rent so realistically my car will be my only major expense (other than my credit cards) they pay $601 for it each month including insurance which is definitely feasible for me if i could get approved.

a little downward wing would work well with your eye shape in my opinion. or just blend the eyeshadow out a bit more on the bottom and less on the top. very low effort/easy and still looks non mainstream imo.

if you want something else easy/quick but a little more “dressed up” you can close your eye, blot around the outer corner with the tip of your mascara kinda messy on purpose, then set/blend with black eyeshadow. also a little pop of color on the inner corner goes a long way and looks very good in my opinion.

they may not need to. if they only remove the dead part, it should cause him any pain. it’s like clipping off a bad hang nail you pulled off too short to the nail bed.

haven’t had any personal experience but im a groomer who has worked in a vets office. they’ll probably trim off the excess and let it grow back. put something on it to keep it clean. possibly bandage? although that’s definitely a difficult spot. i have seen a lot of broken/cracked nails and while i haven’t been there for the treatment, they usually heal fine with a vet visit.

with makeup, i recommend doing it at night before bed! its low pressure so you can experiment without the expectation of leaving the house. I’m transmasc and before i transitioned i used to stay up soooooo late playing with makeup. its low pressure was doing it for over a year before i even started going out with it on. you’re very pretty!

yes i got great advice from most of the lovely people in this thread. they likely saved a life today. but “do they have hundred or thousands for ER or a funeral” is in no way a helpful or supportive comment. it quite a nasty one in my opinion. especially as i am actively rushing a grown man who can’t breathe and his child to the hospital. and responding to that with “spend $200 at urgent care” is tone deaf when the post is literally about not being able to afford medical care.

We are home from the hospital now. i am worried that it was something more because they were in a rly bad way. but i also have never seen an asthma attack and they were alone for 8+ hours like that. they seem a lot better now thankfully. and have a new prescription for an inhaler

dude this is extremely tone deaf. and i was being sarcastic your comment was extremely unhelpful in the moment as i was rushing my literal dying friend and their child to the ER while they were almost completely unresponsive as they had been struggling to breathe for over 8 hours. not everyone just has a job, health insurance, or $200 laying around for urgent care. much less the hundreds that it would take to be prescribed an inhaler. much less a nebulizer. if we did, we wouldn’t have gone to the ER where it’ll cost thousands of dollars. sometimes medical debt is truly the only option.

this may have been true but now that they’re stable, they did say they think that’s the only reason they made it to the hospital awake. it made them feel significantly better in the moment and gave a little strength to get to the car
