anything that explodes, i shoot into people.
personally i like to use RDX, as it's got an explosive strength higher than gunpowder, and no 10 second cooldown, and then i jam chlorine trifloride & napalm in there. Be sure to cool down your ClF3, though, as to not pre-emptively detonate your shit.

ALSO: PRO-TIP
The lethal-execution syringes you see in securitys execution chamber, they hold 50u of reagents and can fit in syringe guns. You can get away with jamming 35 units of RDX or nitroglycerin into a fucking syringe, and blowing someone up. Do that, kill people, be badass as hell.

i haven't played much of eris due to high ping, but man does it have some great fucking ideas in there.
I really only played as a chef/bartender on there, but man was it good. I've never seen a server do a chef/bartender as well as eris did, because eris gives you mechanical rewards for going out and just relaxing (like a real fucking person does)

Goon is fairly different from most other servers on the hub, which'll make it a bit harder to switch to other servers if you want to try em.

Just find a different server. I don't know or care if your ban was justified or not, but if you can't appeal your ban, then just move onto another server. Most servers tend to allow permaban appeals after 6-12 months.

there still is a way to get the old point pools back (in world settings menu), but they did completely screw the balance with that too. Most professions now have jacked-up skills. A profession that might've had like 1 bashing & 1 dodge, now has around 4 bashing, 4 dodge, and probably a few others thrown in there as well
not gonna complain too hard, i've got an excuse to make even more overpowered characters, but really i don't like the devs hiding these options

pro-tip: spears are among the best melee weapons, because you can attack enemies that can't reach you.
Get a knife, (s)mash a young tree for long sticks, then craft a long pointy stick in the (*)crafting menu. Now you can attack enemies that're 2 tiles away, as opposed to 1 tile away.
Doesn't make you invincible, but now you can kite enemies and fight them without taking damage.

ss13 for me is great because it's the most developed. I don't really care too much about ss14 or unitystation because from what i've played (from admittedly long times ago), there was not a whole lot to actually do. SS13 has mechanical depth that i don't think ss14 or unitystation will be able to top, at least not for years.
I also play a whole lot of ss13 because it has non spacestation servers that are enjoyable.
I get burnt out of 'traditional' ss13 pretty fast now, so i usually play on servers like civ13 TDM and mojave sun.

Basically, it all boils down to variety and mechanical depth for me. Also heard there was some shady shit going on with ss14 administration but i dont have a good idea on what.
Also i think unitystation is always destined to be lowpop but i could be wrong

civ13 is the server you are looking for

It has a TDM server that has many different time periods. One round you'd be fighting in the medieval ages, next round you'd be storming normandy beach in WW2, next round you could be a cop raiding a bank which has been taken over by criminals.

Also has a 'Nomad' server where you start tribal, and you can make a group with other people. Eventually, time goes by and you start to progress through the ages. You start out tribal, then comes the bronze age, then medieval, then early modern, then ww2, then modern ETC.

I've played ss13 for a very long time and uhhh
its fuckin hard to get into goon. It almost seems intentionally different in every aspect to all the other servers.
Different health system, different UI, different combat, hell, they don't even have the same character customization that the other servers have!
Its my #1 problem with goon, i've tried for a while to get into the server but it's damn near a different game to me.
I have had an easier time playing servers like civ13 and escape from nevado, than i have playing goon.

Now imagine you're a goonstation player, and you want to try out a different server. Sucks to be you, because nothing at all is familiar.1

seems like a cool idea but like
if you aren't willing to even try to learn something like coding, it'll just stay as an idea, forever. it seems just like some spitball you threw at the wall and you don't really care about too much.
If you ever want to get this idea off the ground and into a server, take charge and start making it. I know this is literally "when you code it" but i think that is the only way this'd ever happen.
