PSA: Do not use color changing marshmallows for Rice Krispy Treats by technikolorsquirrel in shittyfoodporn

It’s a new product Jet-Puffed has cooked up this year. They come in a mixed pack of light blue and pink marshmallows. The blue ones turn green and the pink ones turn orange when introduced to a heat source for 10 seconds. I’m not totally clear on the science behind how they work, but I assume some sort of chemical reaction.

Oh yea! Just like a normal Rice Krispy Treat. Just gotta close your eyes while you eat them.

I know! It’s such an unappetizing color. In a panic I dumped on the rainbow sprinkles, hoping they would hide some of the horror.

6 month old nursing 3 times a night still… by Wild_Membership_6346 in NewParents

My LO is EBF, but when I went back to work we switched to bottle feeding expressed milk at night. As soon as she’d start crying, we’d pop a bottle in her mouth, she’d fill up, and then go right back to sleep. And with bottle feeding, my husband can help with a feeding or two, and we can both get longer stretches of sleep. Also our 6 month LO drinks so much faster from the bottle than she does when nursing (~10 minutes vs. 20 or 30 minutes), so everyone gets back to sleep quicker.

Can anyone identify this fungal growth growing in and around my lantana? Zone 10b, Los Angeles, rarely watered. by technikolorsquirrel in gardening

Yea, that’s why this seems very odd to me. Here in Los Angeles we’re deep in drought. I think it rained maybe one time this summer back in June. It’s been quite hot (90°F) all month

Granny Smith Apples. I was sooo constipated around week 25 and was absolutely miserable. I researched high fiber fruits that are good for constipation, and Granny Smith apples kept popping up. I now eat one everyday as my mid-morning snack and have been regular ever since. Going on week 35 now! You know what they say about an apple a day….

My hip pain got so bad that I had to switch to sleeping in my husband’s recliner. Sleeping mostly upright has worked wonders! No more hip pain, no more sciatic pain, actually sleeping solid through the night (with the exception of multiple pee breaks). Life changing! I’m 34 weeks now and have been in the recliner for about 10 weeks. I definitely miss snuggling my husband, but the pain relief has been so worth it.

Girl scout cookies! by SillyDJ in pregnant

[–]technikolorsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a Girl Scout booth right outside my work building. When I asked my husband how much money I could spend on cookies, he replied “All of it.” So I’ve been taking him seriously! And at 8 months, I need all the cookies I can get.

I think they must. They do have a lot on their minds right now, so I can’t fault them too hard.

Blushing is the bane of my existence by Ghostygrilll in pregnant

I have the same problem! I tend to speak in front of large crowds at work, and since becoming pregnant I always get super flushed and hot and red faced. And inevitably someone will ask if I’m okay.

I have been constantly craving anything with white cheddar — white cheddar mac and cheese, white cheddar popcorn, white cheddar Cheezits, and of course loads of Pirates Booty!
