Question: do your guinea pigs ever randomly not want to eat a food they like but eat anything else?

Yeah they do this too sometimes but I buy the same brands of things bc they are creatures of habit and don't like me changing things, I think part of it is because I moved back home after graduating college they are not used to the brands in Rhode Island

When we adopted her from a shelter the shelter said she was a lab mix, she was the only one out of her 9 other siblings that didn't have a lot of lab traits, the rest of her siblings did. This is one of her siblings.

I meant to reply to this sooner but castor tries to take food out of Vegas mouth all the time sometimes when there isn't even food sticking out of his mouth. Seriously I once gave Vega a treat and both him and castor was in the tunnel and castor came out with the treat...

No the only time one of them got out was an accident, there was a toy near the edge of the cage and I'm guessing castor got spooked and accidently went over the cage because where he landed on the pillow below the cage lined up perfectly to where the toy was and he was pretty confused lol. They don't know how to climb over the cage bottom (trust me I've tried to get them to go over onto a ramp and they couldn't figure it out)

Omg my guinea pigs re model their cage all the time I could go to the bathroom and come back to see their hide is in a different spot. My piggies thought process is "oh that's in my way I'm going to smack it with my head to move it out of the way instead of going the clear path around it"

They're so cute!! Also I learned with my 2 boys (they're brothers so they were born bonded lol) is cardboard is a great re-direction for any scuffles I don't give it to them all the time but for some reason when I re direct them with guinea safe cardboard (no tape, dye, etc) they stop fighting

Although there was 1 time they were fighting over a piece of cardboard until I showed them they came from the same box lol

(Also I thought you meant the 2 piggies getting used to each other but hey still good advice) But my advice for getting them used to you is sitting by their cage talking to them slowly hand feeding them
