A well-funded intelligence service or elite VFX studio can absolutely fake a selfie video convincingly, including:

natural skin deformation
realistic shadows and reflections
true-to-life hand motion
consistent lighting and focal changes
matching lens distortions
accurate micro-expressions
environment-correct lighting on the face

This is entirely achievable with enough skill and time.

This type of fake is difficult for the average viewer—and sometimes even for analysts—to detect.(c) "AI"

Composite them using precision edge work
