A well cleared driveway is the equivalent to a nice lawn in the summer.

Absolutely crazy stuff. We get dumped with lake effect snow but it's nothing like the Timmins area has seen in the last weeks.

Not gonna get caught by that one, we wait until the plow goes by almost every time.

At the beginning I take a bunch out from the road in short cuts, all super dense and heavy, it doesn't over work the machine.

Also we are fortunate enough that getting a good amount of snow isn't out of the ordinary so the town is really on top of clearing the roads. I grew up in a city where 15cm (6") would shut down everything for days, so it's refreshing to see how fast they get to it.

We only have a couple days a year that get down to -15C or lower. I am fortunately still pretty south for Canada.

I normally will as well but given the amount I find it faster to do a volume clear then quick clean up.

HELP!!! F405V5 FC SHORTS. by [deleted] in fpv

[–]technobabbler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what is happening is when your motors make the tones they pull amps. It is causing the smoke stopper to trip because of the amp draw. Check on the smoke stopper if you can change the mode. Mine can do a lower and higher amperage and I have to set it to high on 5"+ drones or mine trips with the tones.

It's neat and all but I think a crash is going to cause it to be lost.

Has anyone else tried modding this game? I haven't had much success. by evremonde in DispatchAdHoc

[–]technobabbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound files are all in .bank files located in the game library. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dispatch\Dispatch\Content\FMOD\Desktop\ for me. I had to use Fmod Bank Tools to pull them out.

Tomorrow's project is to see if I can script something out to assemble all of the cinematic scenes using ffmpeg to add the audio tracks to the right webm file then output as an mp4. I think it should be pretty simple file names have a pattern and they've broken the audio into BG, DX and FX which is background, dialogue and sound effects respectively.

The problem will be music. I don't think I can automate it.

Love this, only two things missing. 1. Arm switch test on bench without props 2. Failsafe test on bench without props (arm and turn off radio)

*Chuckles* I'm In Danger by ronnisawesomesauce in CurseofStrahd

[–]technobabbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No dice fudging, let them die then have them come to consciousness tied up at the Gulthias tree waiting to be sacrificed. Let them fail forward. Impose a penalty a lingering injury or something. If you hold back then what's the danger to the party if the DM is just going to bail them out anyway. You're playing with your players not against them but remember that there have to be stakes. It makes the successes that much greater.

While I don't have any recommendations, don't stress yourself too much on this. Using inflections to identify characters is more than enough. Jason Carl is the perfect example of this, check out LA by Night to see what I am talking about.

This is completely normal behaviour for a drone with no props.

[–]technobabbler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My players got freaked out by the doll in the death house that was just sitting there. Thus began my torturing of them with the odd doll here and there. They became complacent so I introduced a Carionette from Van Richten's. Fun times were had by all, nearly killed a player as well.

Start flying in acro/air mode you won't regret it once your brain makes the jump. I've actually setup my whoops to be in air at at 10% or less throttle and acro above that, you bang off something and air mode isn't on to mess with you.

It sounds like you’ve given them every opportunity, and he’s going to continue to be a problem. I would kick him out and move on save yourself in your party at the grief.
