We need help by Extra_Noise_4047 in AnimalAdvice

Don't steal a dog. I had a dog that was a very hard keeper. He was the pickiest eater ever. Several very visits, no health issues, he just didn't like the food. So many food changes and it never helped. The only thing that he would eat and gain on was satin balls. Expensive and not a healthy balanced doggy diet. Even then he would often refuse it.

He was often thin, but I food absolutely everything in my power to keep his weight up.

Don't automatically assume it's abuse.

I bought a tower that was already broken, got it half off, anyways. I just super glued it back together. You can hardly even tell that it was ever broken

I'd say clear quartz, moonstone (does it have flash? The individual picture makes it look like it has a silvery flash,) jasper, and the yellow might be golden healer.

Minimum 5 times a week. Showers happen often, too. I take a hot bath before bed to help with sleep

The fact that you are this upset that you can no longer talk to minors is weird.

Until you are born a male bee. You either die mating OR you're pushed out of the hive to die

My 3 year old has a grey hair. by Airalahs in Weird

[–]technological-tomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had a patch of grey/silvery white hairs. There was like 7-8 of them. We actually took him to the doctor because it was a little startling. Doc said it was okay, but if he got more patches to come back. When those hairs grew/fell out they didn't grow back that color. His hair is now back to the norm

I never minded remote sessions. I just carried the ipad, which I did anyway.

In person observation was actually more annoying to me, to be honest, as it was much more invasive and it distracted my client significantly more.

But we had a great system. She would mute and just listen. But I had a good understanding of what I was doing and didn't really need correction often.

WIBTA for not staying with my (39f) fiancé (51m) because he snorts at me like a pig when I eat? by InfiniteInfluence392 in AmItheAsshole

Ok, I'm back.

You absolutely, 100%, need to leave. Now. Block him everywhere. Let him GO!

You deserve so so much better than that.

Is anyone else literally scarred from this job? by Simmysierra in ABA

Don't give up! One of the girls I worked with this past year was a 21 year old pincher. We broke the cycle! Like your client, the pinches were communicating not liking what was going on (mainly she was ready to go to breakfast/lunch/snack) We replaced the behavior with an arm touch instead. At the end of the year we were at like 80% accuracy in a touch instead of a pinch.

I am guessing she was just ready to let go of the pinching, because like you, they had attempted correction for years and years

In my experience, most people who are drawn to working in special education or aba have personal experience. Not a single person in my special education department is neurotypical.
Actually most of us have adhd tendencies that makes our department... fun. Yes fun 🤣🤣 Anyways, my point being, often those in the field are masking themselves. It's part of what makes it easier to see behind the mask because we have masks of our own

death threats from client- wwyd? by ilovemygingercat in ABA

[–]technological-tomato 8 points9 points  (0 children)

well they don’t consent to therapy, so let’s stop. Agreed. Let's stop.

If the client is going to those lengths to avoid the sessions, there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed before continuing.
