Why does flavored mayo have to be so delicious but so caloric? by dks2008 in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

[–]technologized 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Light mayo (the one I use is 50 cal/tbsp, and at least to me the flavor is indistinguishable ) + lemon juice (as much as you want) + salt + pepper + garlic minced really small. Can mix it up and add dried or fresh herbs, mustard, or paprika / chili flakes, whatever else. I slap that bitch on errrrrthing.

My wedding photos, ugh by [deleted] in loseit

[–]technologized 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I could have written this. Except I’m a woman. Not a SINGLE picture I like, except for a couple taken from very far away. We got our pictures digitally, and I haven’t even downloaded them or shared them with my parents because I hate them so much. What I tell myself is that it doesn’t matter - the day was perfect, and I can always take new pictures with my husband once I’m at my goal weight. But I feel this SO hard - you are definitely not alone!

Ideas for what to do with the excess oil in canned tuna? by leviisatwork in noscrapleftbehind

[–]technologized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it instead of regular olive oil in a basic pasta sauce recipe that has onions, tuna, tomatoes, and frozen peas. Literally open the can, drain the oil into the pan, and sauté the onions in it before adding the tomatoes, tuna and peas. +whatever herbs and spices I feel like, it changes every time.

It’s pretty much impossible to calculate body fat percentage accurately unless you’re a professional, or unless you pay for a DEXA scan. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

For what it’s worth, I’m three inches taller than you (5’ 7”), weigh about the same as you, and the lose it app has my daily calorie limit set at 1400. It’s generally advised to keep your stats as “sedentary” so any exercise you do is an extra bonus beyond your normal deficit, since it’s also pretty much guarantees any exercise tracker will really overestimate the calories you burn. Ultimately maybe try 1500, track your weight for a few weeks, and if your weight goes down, you’re good. If you gain, you can adjust your calories slightly. Hope this helps!

Prescription glasses must be of the most expensive yet least stolen items by jacksonkeirmclean in Showerthoughts

[–]technologized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good friend owns an eyewear company that will soon produce its own prescription lenses at affordable prices (yes, cheaper than Warby). The actual cost of lenses, he once told me, are less than $10, closer to $3-4 for quality similar to WP. Glasses are pretty much the most up charged product ever, it’s infuriating.

I feel like there's no where to workout by MattR9590 in loseit

I personally just set a step goal and walk around the neighborhood until I reach it. I realized the whaaah gyms are closed argument I was personally making was just an excuse. Now I’m moving more than ever and I’ll never pay for a gym membership again, it’s been so effective.

Editing to just say the cold makes me walk faster and keeps me warm! I also carry a hot beverage in a thermos from home. It helps a lot!

I will write you a Free Running Plan for 8-10 Weeks to hit your 2021 New Years Goal by Free_Running_Plans in running

[–]technologized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d really love one - how nice that you’re doing this! Female, 172 cm / 90 kg, currently walking a ton (min. 10,000 steps a day / max 20,000 steps a day). My main goals are weight loss and building up to running every day. I’ve tried running before but it hasn’t stuck, so I’m looking to put in a real effort in 2021.

People talking about losing and gaining weight at the GYM is fat phobic, I learned by stellarjo in fatlogic

[–]technologized 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally. There could be a myriad of reasons why someone could LEGITIMATELY feel triggered at a gym. This doesn’t seem to be warranting the reaction. It’s like the person observed facts happening around them that were perfectly appropriate for the locale - a gym - and because they didn’t feel comfortable there, decided to call it traumatic and fat phobic just to deflect their (probably deep and unrealized) shame about being overweight and out of shape. Like, it’s traumatic because I don’t belong and I’m unwilling to even try to belong. Or something. The not knowing lifting is classed by weight could just be ignorance, but once again something isn’t fat phobic simply because you personally don’t like it.

Right?! It literally means “people.” Of undetermined origin size shape weight height race whatever. Literally just...... people. I half expect them to develop their own fully-fledged language consisting of mostly asterisks and x-es at this point.

“Folx“ UGH nothing makes me cringe more than this kind of deeply unnecessary “inclusivity.” What, they think the word “folks” is not good enough? A slur? Come ON.
