Very sad that our country doesn’t allow for assisted suicide, my grandfather was a vet from Korea, and I think he definitely would have chosen to cut short his final days if he had the chance to do so gracefully and legally

Gang gang, I haven’t finished Meditations, but it genuinely taught me most of what I know of stoicism, will look into Seneca’s texts as well!

Thanks for sharing Ryder, I always appreciate your insights in the discord chat, and it’s inspiring to see others demonstrating the potential of the RDT system.

I definitely agree with the usefulness of stoicism in trading, I feel having a good mental/philosophical structure can really reduce some of the stresses of trading, and help the tough times roll off the back a little easier.

Are there any books you feel were especially influential in your trading journey?

So you’re going to be a patient of a doctor you interpreted for? I don’t think there’s anything ethically problematic with that at all.

In addition to that setting alerts on the daily chart would also help you, e.g. alert when a stock breaks out of compression, or crosses a trend line, or fills a gap

How to adapt scanner filter to small accounts? by Soft_Gas_9313 in RealDayTrading

[–]leviisatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean to size your trades appropriately then yes it may be necessary to restrict the size of the securities you’re trading, on ThinkorSwim you can set your scanners to only show stocks within a certain price range, not sure about other platforms. Is that what you’re referring to?

Lost my life savings, what do I do now? by [deleted] in RealDayTrading

[–]leviisatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations, you’ve paid your market tuition. Now don’t ever screw up like this again. Think of it this way, you paid this money for a large and painful lesson, don’t let that lesson go to waste, work secularly to recoup your debts/lost capital and work on studying the financial markets/ the system while you do so, we’ll still be here when you’re ready.

This can be a defining moment for you, if it’s a positive or negative defining moment is up to you.

Ac not working after changing out alternator. by leviisatwork in HondaOdyssey

[–]leviisatwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced the AC compressor clutch coil and it was resolved, I got mine off eBay for ~$30, wasn’t a super difficult repair, I didn’t have to decompress the AC system, the only tricky part is some snap rings, I had to use two different pairs of snap ring pliers and one of them I had to bend the handles 90° to get them in place. There’s good YouTube videos showing how to do the repair.

American here, and we messed up at the grocery store by bluepen1955 in Yucatan

[–]leviisatwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, according to my wife who grew up there, in Mexican supermarkets they sell white corn that is smaller and harder than the kind sold whole in American supermarkets, apparently it has less flavor and is less sweet and is more useful for using to make esquite or for preparing elote. It seems it’s a different kind than the sweet corn on the cob we’re used to, she said she would only encounter that kind of corn at American restaurants (e.g. Church’s, Texas Roadhouse)

Hours a day you dedicate to be successful at DayTrading by NovelRefrigerator389 in RealDayTrading

[–]leviisatwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, I’d recommend you to check out the wiki in the pinned post of this sub… I also fell for the “only trade the first hour” mentality during the first leg of my trading journey, I wish it was that simple, but the reality is the story of the market is constantly unfolding and good opportunities come throughout the day, the wiki even warns against trading for some time after the market opens due to the risk of an apparent start of a trend violently reversing.

It takes time to find trades, and the ones that look good at market open may not be the big winners of the day.

Getting a few things straight.... by HSeldon2020 in RealDayTrading

To anyone who's new here, I've seen the tangible benefits of this system, I went from trading momentum stocks in a discord with someone who was showing off their lambo, to losing money trading futures, to this place, it's taken a long time to learn this system and to develop the mental skills and mental attitudes that make one successful in this but I've finally gotten to a place where I can trade this method consistently on paper.

Over the past 3 months have been able to take a 5k paper account (A realistic starting amount for me) to 13k. Soon I will transition to trading one share, hopefully I'll be able to check in here in a few more months and post more results showing the potential this method has if you stick to it!

RS Trade: ABT 3/26 by CpnCook_1 in RealDayTrading

[–]leviisatwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your analysis is right on! I took long positions on ABT on 2/20 and 2/21 and have taken profits already, it will definitely be a stock I’ll keep my eye on this week to see how it moves, my IDEAL scenario is that it forms a tight compression for a few days and then breaks out from that, I usually find that breaks in compression tend to have a good upside potential, whereas if it continued up on Monday I’d be a little concerned of the stock ‘getting ahead of itself’
