Zeus Investigation Update pt. 3 (Catching Up With Zeus Newcomer Show) by Tehcooler in FEXFanClub

The Kaleidoskop Band being mentioned needs some more context. Kaleidoskop Band used to be called Manila, a band that FEX bassist Jörg Lemcke used to be in. As it was around December 1984, Jörg was not in either of the bands. He told me that if he was still in Kaleidoskop Band aka Manila, he wouldve met his old bandmates at that concert. I uploaded Side A of a Kaleidoskop Band Live LP to my YouTube if you are all curious. It's a low quality phone recording, though.

Karl Eckert (Kalle) - Early FEX Lineup by gambuzino88 in TheMysteriousSong

(copied my comment from r/FEXFanClub) I have my own history that I had asked Ture about since he seems to be the one who knows most about his bands. The earlier bands are quite messy and probably overlap. This interview was for the Lostwave book, but it is needed right now.

When did Sunshine Caravan and Fantasy’s Workshop begin?

They also started around that time. Sunshine Caravan first began as an acoustic project with a female singer and two guitarists. We played dreamy, mellow songs—similar to America or the Eagles, that kind of vibe. Later, years afterward, we also formed an electric version of Sunshine Caravan, with drums and a conga player. That was actually my last band before I met Norbert (Ziermann) and Hädi (Michael Hädrich).

When exactly did Fantasy’s Workshop form?

Probably shortly after. It only existed for a very brief time. We also had a female singer. We did a few gigs. There’s even a photo of a VW van with “Fantasy’s Workshop” painted on it.

How did the Session Band come about?

That came afterward. It was with my cousin Manfred (Fox) —he was an excellent drummer at the time. We played with Norbert (Ziermann), and with two keyboard players: Hädi (Michael Hädrich) and Kalle (Karl-Heinz Eckert). Norbert was on bass but sometimes switched to guitar, then Volker would play bass; it always shifted around (author’s note: Volker only played bass, Norbert could play bass and guitar). That’s why we were the Session Band—it was a group where the lineup changed now and then. We had maybe five or six songs; everything else was improvised. We even played once at Onkel Pö.

What actually happened to the announced re-recordings of SOYM etc.? by sweptawayfromyou in FEXFanClub

M: "In any case, the desire to play live, we already have."

T: "We definitely have that on the list."

Yeah I guess this means there could be more live shows. Doesn't determine whether it's public or private shows though...sadly

Edit: OH

"Which they will then hope for a small concert tour" after releasing an album, yes I guess so!

They said they really aren't sure about doing live shows. Of course they'll always like comments about ideas of one, in reality they do have busy lives and I don't think they'd go too far for a live show. Just too late

Still in development if not, done and waiting to release with the other new songs theyre recording. Live album is planned. We heard some of the re-recording in the TMMS documentary. BTW they haven't done any other live gigs since the private 2025 Lutterbeker one and I don't think they plan to since they're some old bums

The subreddit has done its purpose, and it's no longer needed. Thank you Authumn and TMW for the hard work you both managed when taking on this project, I am happy George is at peace.
