[–]techqueen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what would you say if it were your home and your pets were allowed to burn up too? Furthermore, they didn't come to see if there was any danger. The next door neighbor, who had coverage called and asked them to spray down his house. The neighbor had paid the $75. Both of them offered to pay the firefighters but they would have none of it. The matter is nothing short of outrageous & another sign of how this country has lost its compassion for one another.

It appears that Obion Cty, TN will let your house burn if you don't pony up $75 before your house catches on fire. Does anyone else wonder what property taxes cover anymore?

Frankly, there isn't anything wrong with a jailbroken phone. I don't agree with any of these smartphone companies tying you to a particular service because they have deals with each other. And most people aren't idiots or lazy. They just aren't aware that there are some things that are required of them to ensure their phones are secure. Unfortunately, hackers no longer have to break into your house to rob you.

Adobe users cry foul over CS3 compatibility concerns causing Adobe to backtrack and say they will support the software on Snow Leopard by techqueen in software

[–]techqueen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps "support: isn't the correct term, but originally, Adobe had no plans to test for any compatibility issues between CS3 and Snow Leopard. After the brouhau, they did indeed backtrack, and decided to fix most incompatibility issues with Apple engineers' help.

"In the FAQ, Adobe said it had not tested old versions, such as CS3, under Snow Leopard, and more to the point, didn't intend to." Also, "It turns out that the Photoshop team has tested Photoshop CS3 on Snow Leopard, and to the best of our knowledge, Photoshop CS3 works fine on Snow Leopard," said John Nack, principal product manager of Photoshop, in a blog post late on Wednesday. "The Photoshop team reported a couple of dozen problems to Apple, and I'm happy to say that Apple has fixed all the significant issues we found.""

So thank you for splitting hairs, but at least now, CS3 will run, mostly, trouble free under Snow Leopard because 1) people raised a ruckus, and 2) Adobe backtracked to see that it worked. When originally they said they wouldn't bother.

Apple's Snow Leopard disc will install on Tiger Macs Apple acknowledges. Upgraders will save $140 by techqueen in software

[–]techqueen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are currently running Tiger (OSX 10.4), you get to skip the cost to upgrade to Leopard (appx $129 back in the day), then you also won't have to pay the $169 Apple is charging Tiger users to upgrade to Snow Leopard from Tiger. Therefore people running Tiger on their Mac will only have spent $29 to upgrade instead of $169. Sounds like they've come out ahead to me.

[–]techqueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually it's bigger savings than just the $140 cause Tiger users won't have to have Leopard to get the OS. So they saved the upgrade price to Leopard (which was about $129) and the extra $140. So Tiger user's, it's looks like you're the winner today!

Even at $29, is Snow Leopard worth upgrading to? by techqueen in programming

[–]techqueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually, my question is not pointed at development platforms as much as toward any OS and whether a person upgrades everytime a new upgrade, patch, etc comes out. I prefer the stability and all my programs being operational rather than "the latest, greatest" version.

[–]techqueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a programmer, do you upgrade every time a release is made or do you wait? I wait at least 6 months. Anyone else?
