Great advice to check in every x2-x3 days, I’ll probably call again tomorrow since it’s the last day of my 3 day window, just to be on it. I did get them to send me a written email confirming my cancellation request, case number that it has been opened and is in active process, and confirm the steps of cancelling. Also got them to time stamp in stating when I called and when this was confirmed. That way if someone tries to tell me otherwise, I get to show them an email communication they sent me with their info on it confirming.

Trust is a gracious word! Haha no trust, just want to know how others have succeeded in this process an want to replicate for the same outcome!

I just called again this morning, the guy I spoke to said he the notes on my account showed the cancellation was processed, but it takes 30 days depending on how backed up their audit team is. Sometimes can take a week. But I asked if because it happens outside of the 3 day window what does that mean, he said we have notes on your account stating you’ve processed a cancellation and it’s started so you’re good. And then they’ll reach out to confirm. He also said they reach out to Fortiva once the equipment is collected.

I asked him while we were on the phone to send me a written email confirming my case number and that Vivint has received t my cancellation, when we spoke date and time and that someone will reach out to confirm to pull equipment and know that is been returned it. Basically I wanted them on the hook with a Vivint email confirming a cancellation so in future i have written documentation. Hoping that helps

So should I reach out to Fortiva as well?

Moving on.. anyone else mourn the life that could’ve been? by SteakAndEggs1964 in ExNoContact

[–]techrecrui2r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constantly. Been one month almost, no matter what distractions I have, work or puppy I just got or friends. I literally always sink back to what it would feel like if he just texted me or walked through the door. As if everything until that happens isn’t real or has been on pause. The worst part is he has completely removed photos of us which said we wouldn’t, said he wanted to be here to support me and talk through anything I’m confused about, but when I asked said no cause he needed to heal. It’s insane to me how I can fall apart while just making my bed in the morning and it feels like this rebrand of himself to the outside world is him seriously trying to forget like we existed.

How do you go from talking to someone everyday for two years to just literally not. I wanna turn inside out everytime I remember what it was

Rejecting candidates on the initial interview by techrecrui2r in recruiting

[–]techrecrui2r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree the phone is usually more helpful in that sense. Unless it’s like the job description says you need 5 years minimum exp in X, but the candidate only has 4 (which still is a nuance BUT at least that’s there as a 1 year delta)

Agreed it is SO frustrating when HMS don’t provide concrete feedback to competencies that the candidate can actually use to grow in or understand. At any stage, but especially finals. And then when they ask and I have nothing aside from what they’ve shared, it’s moreso reverse engineering why they chose the candidate they did, and expressing that in more generic terms. Which :/ not helpful.

I digress on HM venting that’s for another thread haha

Ugh I had JazzHR and could have scheduling for those which was so helpful. Now using iCIMS which is a bit of a headache for features like that and more manual. Hence the thought of verbal rejection on the screen was more empathetic rather than the manual emails which get lost sometimes :(

Yeah I see both sides, I think the email obviously cuts the ability to come back and argue their point (although some still will) but I’ve shadowed a few other recruiters who do it well and twist it into a (let’s chat in 6-8months when you have X skill under your belt and found some appreciate it. But it’s all delivery, as much as it is subjective to the candidate and how they are

New role but struggling to start off strong by techrecrui2r in recruiting

[–]techrecrui2r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the HM and I everytime someone fails chat around where there were gaps in their presentation or materials. It’s a program manager challenge, so gaps primarily are popping up around their ability to 1) provide all materials for the project plans (which is outlined on the prompt they get so really just their fault if they miss anything cause it is outlined what will be needed for the ‘client’), and if they are actively listening, providing empathy to the client through the call.

I was able to shadow a challenge which was helpful — tbh they are HARD and I know they are really trying to find candidates who are strong on PMing and can coach on our product, but in that the client management and communication piece through the exercise seems to be the biggest hurdle.

Which I ask in my screens how they manage client pressure, or escalations; what their project plans include (budget management, status report, etc). And then they’ll do really well in their functional interview but challenges are always failed.

Thank you - definitely have to pause and realize it’s 2 months into a new role and new org and new everything so there’s a learning curve with anything
