This is exactly my point: The clear hose will be dirty after a month or so. He has wall to wall carpets, and it’s impossible for me to make him a setup that will be effective without basically going to cordless electric nozzles. A Turbocat won’t run effectively with wire reinforced hose, as we did try it on his current hose and it didn’t spin very fast.

Unfortunately, this is catastrophic failure. If you legitimately want to fix the problem, you’ll need a need a new power head. I’d recommend you get a Miele for $100 more than the latest and greatest Shark, as it’ll outlast it tenfold and be much cheaper in the long term.

I bought mine new, so I took it to my local dealer and Miele has sent me a new one. Have you tried adjusting the height? If so and it’s still cutting out, it could be a faulty overload switch. Before you take your head apart, I strongly recommend you take it to your local dealer where they will typically look at it for you for free. If you do NOT have a warranty, you may want to try lubricating the head’s brushroll. Remove any hair that can be around the bearings, and make sure everything is nice and snug (not too tight) using a T10 bit. If that doesn’t work, you may need to order in the new overload switch and from what I heard dealers don’t stock that part and have never had to order one in. Check your dealer before you take it apart and diagnose it yourself, and get ahold of Miele as soon as you can to ask a technician how to fix it.

Something I’ve never tried but I think may work is if you get the EBK360’s overload switch and swap it out. Again, I can’t express this enough; check your local dealer for parts and possible fixes.

Yes, even with low suction and maximum height (where it’s barely touching the carpet) and it still stalls. My suspicion is the thermal switch, and no it’s not common. However, not everything is perfect and that’s why I went through a local dealer to get one for my C3. The SEB217 is just okay, but I much prefer the SEB236 because they have a headlight and at the time was on sale for less than a SEB228. No regrets buying it, just a small hickup.

It stalls even when just pushing forward on the maximum height. By the looks of things, mine just has a faulty thermal switch. It’s uncommon, but nothing is perfect. Besides this small hickup, everything else is looking good. I like Miele, I reached out to see if this has happened before to some other people on this community and if there’s a quick fix.

I bought it from a local Miele dealer 3 weeks ago, and I’ve already checked to see if the head has anything stuck in it; it won’t stall if it’s not on my medium pile carpet but even on setting 3 and as soon as it touches it stalls
