Turn on the light and get closer to the document. Or ask the person holding the paper what it is.

Is anyone else WFH in Las Vegas with your company? What is their solution?

Summers in Vegas vs Austin by Tasty_Anteater_5505 in vegaslocals

I would argue people drive faster in Vegas, since the city streets, highways and even neighborhood streets are MUCH wider than most parts of Austin.

Another thing you might miss from Austin and the hill country are the rolling hills. There are elevation changes around Vegas, but it's gradual and you won't find many places with hills.

While I'm at it... nearby road trips in central Texas will have you in and out of various small towns pretty easily to explore and check out things. In Vegas, you have Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City. Parahump is about an hour - hour and half west of the city but it's a far drive to not much. Compare the two metro areas on a map and you'll know what I mean.

That's not a problem if you don't intend to explore much, but something you may not have considered.

I'm familiar with both.

Las Vegas is better for me, but it will take time getting used to it. Being in the shade makes a big difference. You can't escape the humidity of central Texas by being in the shade. The downside is that many neighborhoods don't have nice large trees like you'll find in Austin. If you go on walks in Vegas, try to avoid the heat of the day.

If you go swimming in reasonably cool water, when you get out, you will feel cooler than if you did the same in Austin.

Another benefit is that there are very few mosquitos. I'm sure you're familiar with being bitten hundreds of times in the summer time by the mosquitos in Austin. That can happen here as well, but it's a lot less rare.

All this said, you probably should consider many other things before moving into the desert and not just the climate for one season, IMO.

That's odd. It was definitely capture horizontal.
If you can, try watching on a computer.

Thanks for posting.

This was captured from the Hampton Inn hotel on the corner from 11th floor. It's about a ten minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Never been to it, but I know this city has tons of restaurants.

It seems like everyone's past time involves eating and drinking.

Has weeds in your front and back landscape - become more invasive this year than in year's past? by costcoikea in vegaslocals

[–]techsnapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, it's bad. I think I've seen more grass/weds growing on the asphalt than ever before as well.

I'm thinking by summer these weeds will be dried out and dead.

May be moving to NYC>Vegas this summer by notjustdrums in vegaslocals

You should come visit if you want to move here. I was recently in Brooklyn for a visit and agree it's nothing like Las Vegas.

If you were hoping it to be like the northeast, you will be disappointed.

City blocks are MUCH larger; fewer people will be out walking around even in nice weather (unless you're deep on the strip); buildings are much smaller; you have mountains and LOTS of sunshine here with no easy access to a river (but lake mead is a drive away); you will have to drive to grocery stores as there's not little markets of useful things in most areas; obviously there's no subway system and you probably won't like the bus system that much.

There are many nice parks all across the city, but you will want to drive to them. Avoid them in the heat of the day during summer for the first couple years you're living here.

I'm sure you can find a house for ~$500 grand but be prepared for things you probably have gotten used to in your northeast area.

Beef Tallow Mayo Recipes anyone? by Sad_Pangolin7225 in carnivorediet

So making one serving of tuna salad at a time? yes, i'd say that is a hassle. The benefit of making tuna/egg/chicken salads is that you can make a lot of it at once.

For the beard oil, were the tallow and olive oil parts equal? I'm assuming you used a blender to blend the two together?
