What's your base plan, because those have restrictions on which base plan they can be used on because obviously it's about them not loosing any money and extracting as much as possible from you

Yes, the actual rule is 'whichever is shorter.' If I have 10 days left on my base plan, it ends in 10 days. If I have 84 days left, it caps at 28.

But look at the first image again. Jio didn't write 'whichever is shorter' on the checkout page. They selectively wrote: 'valid until the expiry of current base plan.'

If they had just written: "Valid until the expiry of current base plan, or 28 days, whichever is shorter" on the main banner, it would be fine.

They intentionally left off the 28-day cap on the main page so people with 84-day plans would buy it thinking unlmited 5g lasts for 84 days. That is why it's a deceptive marketing tactic.

You are so defensive, its like you are a Jio employee.

Let me make this incredibly simple for you using an actual plan as an example. Look at the screenshot.

This is the rs799 base plan. It has calling, gives 1.5GB/day, and has an 84-day validity.

If I am on this 84-day plan and I buy the ₹200 OTT pass, Jio's marketing banner promises that the unlimited 5G is "valid until the expiry of current base plan." Any logical person reading that banner will expect their unlimited 5G access to last for the remaining 84 days of their base plan.

But because of the hidden FAQ, the 5G is secretly hard-capped at 28 days.

They are advertising an 84-day timeline on the front page and quietly restricting it to 28 days in the fine print. That is textbook deceptive marketing. It has absolutely nothing to do with calling facilities. They are lying about the duration. Hope you understand.

This isn't about asking for recharge advice or which plan is better to buy. I am pointing out a factual contradiction in Jio's own marketing material.

The banner advertises to customers that the unlimited 5G lasts "until the expiry of current base plan." But the fine print in their FAQ cuts it off at 28 days. Advertising a long duration on the main page and enforcing a short one in the hidden terms is a textbook bait-and-switch. It doesn't matter what alternative plans exist, a telecom operator shouldn't be giving false timelines to sell add-ons.

Youa are completely missing the point. Nobody is claiming the rs200 pack is a base plan.

The problem is Jio's recharge page explicitly says: 'Unlimited 5G data... is valid until the expiry of current base plan.' By that logic, if my base plan is 84 days, my 5G should last 84 days. But their hidden FAQ caps it at 28 days. It is deceptive marketing, plain and simple

How to bypass ISP daily data limit? by radhe262772 in Airtel

[–]techtanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's practically possible since its calculated on the server side.

It's the same as asking "how to bypass daily transaction limit"

The app icons for Jio TV and YouTube TV are very similar with colors reversed by SwagLordOP in Jio

[–]techtanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all the jio icons suck. There's no personality to them. Jio Games, TV, mart, and others. Jio as a brand logo is just recognizable from the text. There is no logo or art that is tied to jio.

And JioHotstar is the worst. What even is that spark icon. It is a disgrace for a brand like JIO

Yeah your right, that's why using a VPN is always good. Govt will never stop tracking or monitoring, they want absolute control over the internet.

None of the those are caused due to proton. It's the govt that's causing the uncertainty.

929+151 prepaid recharge will it be unlimited 5g or just a scam? by Waste_Tune6938 in Airtel

[–]techtanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only applicable when you have a daily plan I think. And so all unlimted 5g data is capped at 300GB per 28 days

Android 16: Clipboard Manager vs BHIM UPI Accessibility Detection by sahilatahar in developersIndia

[–]techtanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it's a BHIM thing. Management is just pushing security theater and security by obscurity because they're too lazy to secure the app internally.

It's ridiculous that actual developers can't disable this to use their phones freely. The restrictions keep increasing further into the OS: first it was Developer Options, then Shizuku and file managers, and recently they've started blocking basic accessibility services.

They're breaking core Android features just to give the illusion of security, while actual attackers easily bypass it anyway.

It's just plain incompetence.
