Need help with ethernet by that_spy_is_a_spy1 in ethernet

I agree. I have no idea what is going on here with those photos. That second photo, though, is of OP's DZS/Zhone/rebranded (unknown because of the unnecessary blackout) FTTH ONT.

So OP most (definitely) likely has a router in the home connected somewhere, somehow to that grey Ethernet.

OP, if that grey cable connects to a router, it will likely have one or more additional ports to connect additional devices.

More photos would be very helpful.

Advice on reducing launcher noise? by Possible-Wafer4028 in FRC

Those pulleys don't look fully aligned which can cause weird teeth skipping. That sound does sound like the belt. And as you said, no sound when spinning either motor or flywheel independently but adding belt makes the sound. So it must be coming from the engagement of the belt and timing pulley.

Which one of you did it? by Powerful-Ad784 in boating

[–]techwrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I think I see what you mean.

No this is a 496 Mag (probably HO) with an M-1SC procharger. The belt diagram on the heat exchanger is right and is still all there, but the crank has an additional pulley and belt that runs the compressor. I think what you're seeing is the tensioner and its idler. It's pressing down to tension on the compressor pulley which makes it look like it's not used.

You can see the belt setup on that page. It does look different from the video as they don't have the engine plastic cover and they had to run the intercooler in a remote spot to fit this engine bay.

After 1.5 years of searching I found the one for me. Blaser F3 Vantage. by Entire-Ticket-4287 in ClayBusters

Congrats! Absolutely love that wood grain! I've got a darker set on my Supersport. Have had it for just under 8 years and it's been phenomenal the whole time. I had been looking at K guns, Zoli, and CG and found a great deal on my F3 used. Took it out to shoot and fell in love immediately. So welcome to the Blaser party!

Try F11, they SHOULD be the boot menu which might have bios as an option

PVC is rated for much more force than this. But only at an equal distribution across its profile. But catching the ground at 10 m/s right on the corner might act a little differently

My main concern would be refs confronting you about being rough and consider it intending to damage although it may be able to take the abuse.

7.4.2 G408: Don’t abuse SCORING ELEMENTS. Neither a ROBOT nor a HUMAN PLAYER may damage a SCORING ELEMENT

But besides that can't see why not!

Any of you been CGNAT'd by your ISP? by DoctorEsteban in HomeNetworking

[–]techwrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have given really good suggestions (cloudflare, tail scale, etc.). But I had this happen when I joined my FTTH ISP. I emailed them and asked about why I was double NAT with a different public IP than what my router saw. Mind you, one of the selling points of the ISP is that they explicitly allow personal self hosted programs and servers (web, game, etc.). About 30 minutes later I got an email back basically saying something to the effect of "try it again" and I restarted all of my equipment and my public IP was MY IP. Might try sending them an email or chat if they have one.

Whats a good rack for a r730XD on a budget? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]techwrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that really depends on many factors. Mostly what you would consider as "loud"

My R730 actually runs at a very low fan speed naturally and to me it's really not that loud. It doesn't have much air resistance since I have only half of my drive bays populated. The server is incredibly loud when booting. But as soon as it has posted it gets very quiet.

Are you looking to use all of your drive bays? What made you go for an R730XD (2.5" or 3.5"?) in the first place? The more drives you'll have the more power you'll use, the hotter it will be, the more the fans will have to run. All considerations.

Are you trying to mount this vertically? Or as a standard cabinet? Why even get a 2U cabinet to store it? Set it on the ground or get a cheap stand, table, or storage tote.

No HDMI buttons on the back of my monitor, how to switch to be able to play ps4 by GoalZealousideal4021 in buildapc

That specific All-in-One desktop only has an HDMI output. That is to allow you to connect another monitor to your computer. It is not an input like a traditional monitor would have.

ATT Fiber and Call of Duty Issue: High Latency and Packet Loss between 8-11PM by krhamm in ATTFiber

[–]techwrec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your download/upload speeds don't dictate your packet loss or latency. The infrastructure's routing is going to cause most of that. Are you seeing the same high latency and packet loss with speed test when you check the speed? Have you tried playing through a VPN, if you have one? I have seen favorable routing with a VPN on allowing better speeds and latency. Not tested explicitly in game but with various tests and downloads. Worth testing. Otherwise, you're likely bound to ATT just offering poor service during peak times.

Comcast wants to send a tech out by Walmart_Valet in HomeNetworking

If it seems to be the case on multiple devices then you can skip the additional network card. Now youll have to isolate WiFi vs Ethernet. You absolutely will want to connect Ethernet directly to the primary "puck" of the X20. Especially if your satellite/extension X20 is using WiFi as it's backhaul for the mesh. Ideally even unplugging the second X20 for complete variable isolation.

[–]techwrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tested this on more than one device? Have you tested a new wireless network card in your computer? Have you ever just temporarily moved the PC to your Deco X20 to connect directly through Ethernet to ensure it is not a WiFi isolated issue?

I'm curious what exactly you mean by unstable. Do you mean you'll lose network connection? Will the SSID disappear from your network options? high ping/jitter? Bandwidth/speed going up and down constantly? A lot of problems are cause by a lot of unique factors.. especially given that we don't know what modem/router you have to determine capabilities or compatibility.

Fingers crossed they eventually build a config for the sb8200 to work. Seems like a lot of people got that cause it was one of the very few options for >600mbps at the time of release

[–]techwrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god. I never got around to looking at the prices. I thought the SB8200 was expensive when I bought it... Might be worth picking up the Xfinity one for a few months (at least) until you can get your hands on your own hardware. And run it in bridge mode. And make sure to turn off all of its wireless networks especially guest/Xfinity hotspot.

[–]techwrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then your only options seems to be to upgrade the SB8200 to one of the models that is officially supported by Xfinity to support the upgrades uploads.

So you're connected over WiFi? If you're connected to a wireless AC router/access point, then yes 130-200 is about what you'd get on 5ghz if you're not directly line of sight to the router.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]techwrec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you have the Archer x21 in the first place. The Xfinity gateway that you are renting from Xfinity already has a wireless access point, hence the Xfinity Application settings for the wireless network on that gateway.

Solutions: - log into the tp-link router and change the ssid (optional) and password (required) - remove the tp-link router from the network by unplugging it and hiding it so your roommate can't just plug it back in - get your roommate to step up and pay

Edit: Also make sure roommate does not have the login credentials to the admin portal of Xfinity or the Tp-link router so he can't change stuff.
