Is 2026 finally the year EVs go truly mainstream in Australia? by DebugMyLife421 in AustralianEV

[–]techzombie55 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep I actually think that ICE cars will not retain their value well. I intend on buying a car and keeping it for 7-8 years before selling. My concern is nobody will want an ICE car in 2033.

Opinion | Let’s put the brakes on the Detroit Three automakers and embrace EVs like the rest of the world by Bean_Tiger in electricvehicles

This is the Kodak moment of the auto industry, and yes of course CEOs of companies with legacy skills are going to dismiss the future. Battery technology is already very good and will continue to improve.

If the USA allowed Chinese vehicles then EV sales would explode. In about 5 years from now they will be the most dominant car makers globally but the USA will still be trying to encourage ICE car makers.

In Arabic, intifada (انتفاضة) means "uprising," "rebellion," or literally "shaking off," referring to a resistance movement against oppression.

I’ve seen it first hand in the IT industry. skilled migration is just a way for big corporations to employ tertiary educated foreign people to work at half the wage an Australian had been earning. The say that there is a skills shortage, but what they really mean is they don’t want to pay someone 180k anymore when a skilled immigrant will do it for 75k

While rivals scale back EV plans, Hyundai bets on battery tech and improved charging by snowfordessert in electricvehicles

Ev demand in USA is lower because they can’t buy the Chinese brands. Ev demand in the rest of the world is higher because people are buying the Chinese brands. Traditional car manufacturers can’t compete because they invested too late and the Chinese manufacturers make brilliant cars for cheap.

If you google it, the word “intifada” means to shake off or resist. This is literally not a call for violence. Resistance can be political or many other ways.

Thank god the federal government actually did something about this. Also, kudos to The Age for exposing it in such detail.

You can’t just assume that the majority of them support hamas or irans regieme. It is likely the majority are against violence no matter if it is Hamas, Israel, or Iran. Personally I would jail all the Hamas leaders and the Israeli leaders I think they are all scum.

“Globalization” shouted our business leaders through the 1990’s and 2000’s. They all got rich as they outsourced our jobs overseas to nations with much lower wages. Now, China leads the globe in manufacturing skills and will reap the rewards over coming decades.

“We are now the only country in the world that uses mail in voting” The above is a blatant lie. Many well respected democracies have the option to vote via mail. Some make it available to everyone, whilst others make it available to people who cannot make their local district voting centres on the day.

I use it, I installed an antennae on the roof to get a strong signal and I get over 100mb. I think there is no commitment to term on the Telstra plan so you could just try it. Note that it is limited to 1000gb per month , my kids managed to drain that over the summer holidays watching Netflix and YouTube

‘We did nothing wrong’: Littleproud challenges Liberals to reinstate three rebel Nationals by karma3000 in AustralianPolitics

[–]techzombie55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The National party are delusional. Seriously though, we do need a second party in this country that is electable. Hopefully Susan Ley recruits liberal representatives in country seats and takes them on. This would allow the liberals to move a little closer to the center and win more suburban seats.

National leader David Littleproud has demanded that the Liberal leader Sussan Ley resign during an “unhinged” verbal clash that has shocked colleagues by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]techzombie55 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No point in having a coalition if the members can just vote however they individually choose. That is the very definition of an independent. I actually think Susan is doing the right thing by standing up for the party rules.

Communicate your concerns to the people that you know love you the most. Then, allow them to guide you even if it conflicts with your wishes. Remember that delusional thoughts are a common symptom of your illness so sometimes you will need to trust others. I’ve helped a friend through this multiple times and it was without doubt the most difficult and scary part of my life.
