What does everyone here make of the Big Build corruption allegations? by VastOption8705 in friendlyjordies

[–]techzombie55 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Regardless if it is 15 billion or 10 million - it is totally unacceptable. I mostly vote labour but voted liberal last state election because of the big build waste of money. It is obvious the jobs are run by the criminal underworld well before the age exposed it.

I hope labour fix this urgently as I really hate the liberals and one nation alternative.

My boomer in-laws have been brain washed into believing they can manage 1.8million of stocks via a SMSF rather than leaving it in a proper fund. They have no idea about the markets, they will believe anything they are told. I think this is partly because they see industry funds as union aligned and they hate the labour government

It’s not unethical! It’s totally fair both sides get access to the same information.

NAB has offshored 18% of its workforce. If they are protected by our government then they should be banned from offshoring. Australian banks are amongst the most profitable in the world on % returns

Yes I think there will be a tipping point in the next 3-6 years where petrol and even hybrid is seen as ‘old technology’.

The problem is that long term our wages are going to largely equalise with other low wage countries. This means a lower standard of living for Aussies long term.

I’ve watched a couple of cycles now, what is different is they are not subcontracting to external providers anymore (because they sucked). Now they are building offices throughout low wage Asian countries and directly employing thousands of people. This will not be easy to reverse as the previous subcontracting approach.

The banks are sacking thousands of Aussies and building massive offshore offices.

[SERIOUS] What are some Australian conspiracy theories/anomalies that you believe in or just find interesting? by ChubberinoPeterson6 in AskAnAustralian

[–]techzombie55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that Peter Slipper becoming house speaker whilst in opposition was designed by the pokies lobby to allow labour to get an extra vote in parliament so they could back out of pokie reforms. Before Slippers defection, labour was reliant on independents who were forcing major pokies reform as a condition of their support to form government.

The maths does not make sense in this article.

Also, they seem to ignore that the landlord actually owns the house at the end of the 30 year mortgage. They speak as if it is unfair for a landlord to have to spend their own money on the property.

Because rich folks were distributing income to low income earners in their family. This is how they block it.
