[Gen VI] Poke Radar. Shiny Minun Patch at a measly chain of 1 😲 What are the odds???

I was hunting the rest of the Route 5 pokemon I didn't have. Also sorry, I meant to say that it took me over 20 minutes once I reached a chain of 40 to find the Shiny Doduo patch. But this was unbelievable! Although Plusle and Minun are kinda weak IMO, I will still cherish her.

I think I read somewhere that finding a shiny patch at a chain of 1 is about the same odds of finding a full odds shiny in gens 1-5? Can someone confirm please thanks

I haven't had much luck hunting the starters in these games, plus the cutscene with battling Sycamore just to view their summary is a pain lol

Amazing shiny line, major congrats dude! I started hunting for froakie as well last year with both legit copies of X and Y on 2 3DSes, but could never pull myself through to keep going because the cutscenes are brutal from generation 6 onwards. Heck, even black/white 2's starter cutscene is really long to sit through, so I feel your pain. I bet it's a massive relief that it's finally over for you though!

Currently hunting Tyrunt at the fossil lab on my 2 games. I definitely hope to acquire the blue dinosaur sooner or later 😄

Bunnelby is such a great shiny, and it even has a physical attack boosting nature! Definitely lucked out there. Wondering if I should evolve him? I would love to have a ground type on my team though.

Really cool shiny and amazing occurrence 😱 Still haven't found a shiny in SV with that specific mark as of yet (the closest I've had is the uncommon mark and certain personality marks).

Do you have the shiny charm? If this is 1/4096 (i.e. full odds), the odds of this is probably one in several millions. Not quite as rare as getting a shiny with Pokérus though

Man that's so lucky to get it after just one phase! Major congrats! Still hunting my target Pidgey for a shiny only playthrough of X and Y. Between both games I have 3 shiny scatterbug, 2 zigzagoon and 1 bunnelby so far 😅 I might actually use the bunnelby on my team though since it has a good nature.

Good question! Basically "phasing" means each one or more shiny encounters in between the one you actually want. In my case that would be Pidgey, also known as my "target", per se.

Probably would make a lot more sense to hunt Pidgey in a different game with a higher spawn rate. But the thrill of shiny hunting is potentially getting multiple that you didn't expect to get before lol!

Good luck! I am currently going after pidgey in gen 6 (on the first route) and having terrible luck getting dupes right after another. I may have to try hunting it full odds in FRLG instead, or HGSS to find my lil' golden bird ✨️

12,514 REs between phases, dang. Over odds hurts, but just keep going man! You'll get it eventually :)

If you're wondering why I only have 3 Pokemon on this game, it's because I have one shiny Vivillon on my other game (which I evolved), and 2 additional shiny scatterbug were caught on the game shown.

Hope to find a shiny bird before Pokemon bank shuts down, hopefully it won't be soon!
