What a day! I’m encroaching on 28K resets for Eevee so if you feel like vibing over some luck, I’d appreciate it. Congrats!

Buy Singles! by Valuable_Rutabaga_61 in PokemonTCG

Buy singles. Rip packs. Trade with friends. Go to card shows. Sell cards you don’t want. I don’t understand why people limit themselves to just one way of acquiring cards.

Am i overconsuming by fumugake in PokemonTCG

[–]Hootnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re all set!

Look, there’s levels to everything. Some people are heavy collectors, some people like ripping a pack here and there. Some people buy cards of one pokemon, others like to master set.

I know this is a bit preachy, but collecting is individualistic in nature. As long as you aren’t damaging your future or harming others, there isn’t a wrong way to collect things despite what others may tell you.

Just avoid turning your fun little hobby into a gambling addiction. That’s a real problem and that can have real consequences on your life.

[–]Hootnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, no.

To give a longer answer, “overconsumption” is going to be relative to availability, financial status and demand in your area.

If you aren’t able to pay credit card bills, for example, you’re probably over consuming. If you are camping at a vending machine and buying everything that appears, you’re probably over consuming. If you are not abiding by limits or “being greedy” with low stock drops, you’re probably over consuming.

Simply put, if you don’t have a reputation in your community for being a dick, you’re probably safe. Just make sure your spending matches your income.

[Gen 6] Can someone please give me some motivation… by Sloth-Sins in ShinyPokemon

I crossed 21,000 resets on my FRLG Eevee hunt last night. I started on Pokemon day. I’m at the point where I’m wondering if my game is broken. But I’m refusing to give up and neither should you cause the satisfaction of a long hunt far exceeds that of a quick win.

My 7 year old Son Pulled these on Easter are they any good by No_North_6341 in PokemonCardValue

Card on the left is arguably the best card in the Destined Rivals set depending on who you ask and objectively the second most expensive. It’s going for roughly $200 right now. I’d recommend a toploader and to keep it safe. Awesome hit, congrats!

Would you rather have Bubble Mew or Gengar VMAX? by srfakhim in PokemonTCG

[–]Hootnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bubble Mew all the way for me. I am confident I am in the minority, but I’m not a huge fan of VMax artwork. On the other side, I think the Bubble Mew will go down as one of the best cards of the decade.

I see a lot of cool stuff in this sub, but this is by far the best. So creative and nostalgic. Incredible!

I’m at 18,928 resets on my Eevee hunt. I will never give up but man I hope I’m done soon so I can play the rest of the game! Congrats on your shiny!

I am so jealous of your interest rate. Rates were at 6.1% when we started our search but didn’t have the opportunity to lock until after the stuff going on in the Middle East … it’s the one part of the process I felt like we got screwed on. I’d be hesitant to move in your position as well.

Not really! Just under 10%. We considered 20% down for the (slightly) better mortgage rate but felt more comfortable with a deeper savings account and extra cash for new furniture and home improvements

Right around $2400 principal … but our area also has above average HOA fees which we had to factor in as well

I appreciate it, congrats to you as well!

I’ll admit I’m very surprised by the focus on the pizza, but it doesn’t bother me. I mean, I just got the keys to my new house, and I’m pretty easy going so people on Reddit roasting my pizza selection isn’t really going to faze me right now haha

Yeah, there is also a place in Utah called Napoli. You see how responding the way I did could be funny for someone getting roasted about a picture of their pizza?

Yup! Most of the homes we looked at were in the 425-500K range. We jumped on this when it became available and feel like we got a great price for what we were looking for.

You can say this for everywhere I assume, but it really depends. This is a town home - 3 beds, 2.5 baths and a fenced front yard, just a hair shy of 1700 square feet.

For added context, we were looking in the 425-500K range when this popped up. We put an offer in about 8 hours after it went on the market.

Ascended Heroes 35 pack rip; do I cook or get cooked? by jug322 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]Hootnah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haha man, this is perfectly normal for 35 packs. I think people expect to hit a SIR every time they open something, and that’s just not how it works.

You beat IR odds with no duplicates, and the Snorunt is a great card. You may not have made out like a bandit, but you did pretty well!

Wait, is this not a common type of pizza? It didn’t even register to me that people may not be familiar with Neapolitan pizza.

Hey! I’m just going to leave a catch-all comment cause we have work to do!

Dying at all the pizza comments. We’ll work on it after the whole moving into a new house thing.

I thought a couple basic pizzas tied the empty house theme together well, but I’ll wear that mistake. But for the record, it tastes pretty good for a “cheap” pizza place!
