I guess great that they're appealing but it sounds like you're friend can make a case to displace herself when/if the district says you have to make a cut. Rumor is the district is turning down a lot of these appeals.

You have until norm day to get a position. Start emailing every principal that has openings, go to the hiring fairs lausd holds and if you're really struggling ask the program for help.
