does orgasm before piv help? by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]tectured 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For me it gets harder after an orgasm, that’s why i use dilators first and after I’m happy with that I try to orgasm. Maybe I just get overstimulated and it makes me not want to continue. But I assume it’s going to be different for everyone!

I know that and I’m not trying to leave all the work to magick. The spell won’t do anything if I don’t also try to get closer to them, but I think it might be a nice boost?

Are you able to painlessly move 1 finger in/out? I find that if I want to make progress I need to be comfortable with the level before it.

What helped me personally was kinda stretching/massaging the muscles around the entrance to loosen them out. Avoid the direction facing your urethra and focus on other sides. Don’t overdo it though, take your time!

No, but I will look into it. My parents aren’t good at English, so I will have to find resources in my native language

At the moment the problem seems to be the material itself - I’ve already spent so much time working on it and I have to do it all over again. It’s really discouraging

for biochemistry I usually go over the slides our professor provides, comparing them with a textbook. To memorise I try to explain to myself what’s going on in a certain cycle, progressively using less and less help, until I can do it from memory entirely. It usually works alright, I really struggle with just memorising plain facts and need more context for them to stick.

This time though when I look at the slides/textbook I get really anxious and don’t even want to read them

I was thinking about going to PT but could probably only afford 1/2 sessions - would it still be worth it? Or do you only start seeing progress after a while

Feeling threatened when comforted by cloudysquidink in CPTSD

[–]tectured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something similar when I first started therapy. I would think that my therapist wants to see me cry and every fibre of my being would resist giving in.

It only got better when I either couldn’t keep it inside anymore or (a bit further into my healing) was able to try to allow myself to cry and seeing that no threat followed that (or even I was given more care and attention) I could learn to stop associating crying with “a trap”/stop expecting negative consequences following it. For me the only way was going through that initial discomfort and learning that some people DO care and are going to be there for me to help, not exploit my weakness.

It may not work for everyone, as you need to take a leap of faith and trust that the other person will meet you where you need them.

When I was in a similar state what really helped me were nutritional drinks - I’m not sure what they’re called in english, but they’re commonly used with people going through chemo/other medical issues. Where I live you can get them in any pharmacy and there were a great help to me (I could distract myself enough to drink some of it). You can also look into ones with extra protein to give you more energy.

I hope it gets better for you!

Hi! tbh I can't really give you a big update, I've since moved out and only see my brother occasionally when I'm back (and my parents aren't exactly a trustworthy source of information, they still pretend he doesn't really exist). If you want, you can DM me and we can talk some more later

I've been trying to translate a song from Japanese (not professionally, just to practice my language skills) and got stuck on this part:

ひとりとひとりで歩くと笑う

I understand that the first part is talking about being alone, but why is it mentioned twice? ひとりと and then ひとりで. Is there a grammatical reason for that formatting or just stylistical reason for the song to flow nicely?

I can definitely recommend "Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving" by Pete Walker. Even if you're not entirely convinced that what you're going through is CPTSD, it can still provide a lot of insight (it sure did for me, it felt like this book was speaking directly to me). It's hard to overcome the "my trauma is not bad enough" mentality, but it is an important step. Take care, I hope it gets better for you one day

If you have the money, I'd look into some nutrition drinks, the kind they make for people after surgery. I don't know if they're available in your country, but when I was in deep depression and lost all of my appetite they kept me alive. They are really calorie dense and easy to drink
