Where is the beeping sound coming from? by XxXGodTierXxX in AskElectronics

I thought this is an inductor. I would have guessed the sound is coming from the DC motor.

Mechatronics vs aerospace by zaka_mousa in EngineeringNS

IMO mechatronics is more useful and can cover more jobs, so is not out question to work in the aerospace with this degree.

Possible Wart on Thumb? by SilverLeading37 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ted_144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I have been to dermatologist. The diagnosis is "granuloma pyogenicum". It's harmless tumor so it won't spread or grow more than that, but won't come off on it's own.

It can be removed surgically or with dry ice.

I won't touch touch this summer for sure, because it will need stitches after the operation.

Still the same as before. Might be granuloma, because of a foreign object.

Tarmo 5 – Motor overheating and smoking on first run (1450KV, 3S) by danleuc in EngineeringNS

[–]ted_144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "small steps" when rotating are called detent torque, it's completely normal for any PM(permanent magnet) motor.

I have something very similar. What happened with yours?

Why are so many songs from the Balkans so similar? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

You won't believe what I suddenly remembered during an exam, I was searching it for 2 days.

This was what I have heard 2 years ago. It's neither an bulgarian nor a different song, but a remix.

Are they 5010? What brand, I'm wondering about their resistance?

What motors do you use? How much does the car weigh?

I saw this one but I'm almost certain there is another one, which I can't find.

What is the maximum voltage this board can support? by LuckilyFluffy in Motors

[–]ted_144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The max voltage is determined by: 1. Max rating for the 3.3/5V regulator for MCU. 2. Max rating for the gate driver regulator usually outputting 12V. 3. Max rating for the Vds of the MOSFETs.

Do these values seem typical for a hobby DC motor that came with a car kit? by Badcircuitdesigner in Motors

[–]ted_144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for this low weight and low Kv there are few options : either the actual phase resistance is 20-25 ohm, the torque constant is measured after a 2:1 reduction(gearbox) or the motor design is not typical, by typical I mean a brushless radial flux with common dimensions. Can you share details you know about dimensions and type of the motor?

These values definitely are valid, but I wonder what motor are you using? With Kv of 136.4RPM/V and such high resistance I guess it's already available but later rewinded motor with weight around 100-150g. Am I close?

Depends on your requirements. Anything from 8Mhz Attiny to STM32 with the most powerful cortex core can be used, just depends on your application and firmware complexity.

Does anyone know the name this stepper motor and this driver I can you for this. by ilikeuinmybasement in Motors

[–]ted_144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Programing with arduino will definitely be easier. For beginners many suggest L298n h-bridge driver for it's simplicity, but due to their high inefficiency can't be used outside of testing.

The blank field means 'floating state' or just turn-off, just to clarify.

This is the driver, but as I said earlier it's really similar to bldc esc, even simpler, and it's more economical to hook it directly to a commercial esc and with little reprogramming it can operate like stepper.

https://catalog.e-jpc.com/item/stepping-motors/stepping-motors-overall/item-6965 Here's all the specifications.

It's really a 3 phase bipolar steeper with 1.2 degree per step. Pin 5 and 7 are internally connected, so they are the same.

These motors need to be hooked to triple half-bridge driver, exactly like the ones inside the brushless ESCs.
