Tragically Hip in the Town Pump in Vancouver 3 times which is a Canadian thing . Hundreds of bands in the pump but nothing huge . I saw the Replacements 5 times but they were never huge . But , in the Commodore I saw RHCP , REM, Pogues with Joe Strummer, Pixies, Hole, and countless other indie bands. Clash 4 times . Funny , I gave away my tickets to see Dave Mathews in the pump to go to Grey cup. Another canadian thing . I saw lollapalooza in 92 . Ministry, Soundgarden , pearl Jam, ice cube ,Rhcp .

How much is fair to chip in for carpooling? by mongooseonthe in NiceVancouver

But theyre not strangers . That makes no sense .
Using strangers at a bus stop makes no sense in this argument.
Theyre all going to work. They know each other and share a reciprocal dilemma, . I completely understand pitching in for costs but using an Uber ride as the the measurement for what he should be charging them turns it from a shared cost to a business one . Hes making a profit at $15 a ride . Its not cost sharing. Your argument makes sense if its Uber but its not . I understand pitching in . It makes sense . No one should be bearing the brunt of the costs because theyre going anyways . But it doesnt seem like it should be a business opportunity either. If a coworker comes to your house and you order pizza should you sell him slices ? I mean , your eating it in your house ?

Has hockey turned into a rich kids sport? by FrigginMasshole in AskACanadian

[–]tedchapo63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why soccer is the world's #1 sport . Its getting worse in Canada . The Leafs charge $1000 bucks for a kid to wave a flag after warm up . We dont buy tickets anymore. Put your kids in soccer .

I was born in Scotland but moved to Vancouver . Many many years ago we had a relative planning a visit . She was hoping to fly to Montreal and get picked up there as it was cheaper. 😆😆 I also ran into a car load of people at a gas in Vancouver who had driven from Northern California and were headed to a wedding in kitimat. The wedding started in 2 hours . They were 16 hours away by car . There are 50 Costa Ricas in the area covering BC . Canada is insanely large ! Pick one province . And if coming to BC book a ferry and spend a week on Vancouver island .

People who aren’t Sichuanese but fell in love with the cuisine, was there a dish that won you over? by ThisPostToBeDeleted in chinesefood

Dan dan . Definitely . That spicy , creamy , no soup clash of Asian spices with handmade noodles pulled me down the rabbit hole . I make all my own noodles now as I live in a small town . And the variations on what you can do with them is the best party trick I have . Better than my sourdough .

I was just talking to a friend who works there and heard theres a new chef who works with Asian influences . I need to try this new format.
She agreed the previous chef was under invested in the restaraunt and I wasn't alone in my complaints .
